More bread please!

Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food! Loved trying different flavours. Excellent wine list. Set menu / degustation left us a touch hungry at the end of the meal, despite the adding of quite a few slices of bread. Love the dishes but needed a little more fullness!

This restaurant doesn't warrant 2 hats. Hearing the same 4 songs over and over again doesn't make for easy listening. Our teenage waiter with One Direction hair flicking all over the place was completely inexperienced and could barely pour a glass of wine. I'm all for staff training but not in this (apparently very good) environment. The 6 courses were... More

It was a cold night in Hobart and we wanted something warming. This place was ideal. Great range of beers to start, delicious black pudding with an aus mod twist, rich meat dishes and best of all, warming. We found it a special night out in Hobart - but it was hard to find - it's hidden behind a map... More

The building/decor, service, staff, atmosphere and flavours are all wonderful, including the intimate descriptions of each ingredient, which admirably, is sourced locally. Three colleagues & I were mildly shocked by the prices (cheapest set menu = $90 pp, cheapest bottle of wine = $65) especially in light of how tiny every course was. If you have a naturally healthy appetite,... More

Gorgeous degustation, each course was delicious. Degustation can sometimes leave me a little hungry but not here. The staff are so proud of the quality of everything that comes from the kitchen. I feel that I experienced the best of Tasmania's produce beautifully cooked and served.

We had dinner at Ethos on a Saturday night and it was one of the best degustation meals we have experienced. Right up there with Attica, Vue du Monde, Hell on the North and despite the Herald Sun's food critic, the Flower Drum. This establishment changes its menu daily and the menu is based on what is fresh and available... More

Simply sublime. Super fresh produce locally sourced that day and beautifully presented. the 6 course menu changing every day to reflect that. The wine matching imaginative and exquisite. My partner and I eat out regularly at the high end restaurants and this dining experience would rate amongst the best that I have ever had anywhere in the world. We'll be... More

What an amazing place. The feel is amazing. The pre dinner drinks down stairs, a very refine and lovely experience. The degustation with matching wine was sensational. The courses were very diverse and the wines were matched perfectly. Service was excellent however we didn't have the same wait staff the whole night. When the last courses were delivered the atmosphere... More

We really enjoyed our experience at Ethos. The service was excellent, the the restaurant had no issues adjusting 6 course dinner to suit our dietary requirements, something that not everyone restaurant can or willing to do. The food flavor was excellent and somewhat reminiscent of some of the good restaurants in New Orleans. Excellent food. The price per person is... More

Wow. So disappointed. This was my favourite restaurant, but tonight i was disappointed and embarrassed to be there. $90 for raw, bland food is inexcusable. Even more so when the waiters (who were fantastic) said 'it gets better after these two dishes'...what a horrid dining experience.
