Ate there last night a good meal but not brilliant. I struggle to see how they made 18 in Gourmet Travellers top 100. Had the degustation some dishes were good others fell flat . I don't get the Sake obsession and took a wine option which was good . Had lunch today at Frogmore Creek and had the 6 coarse... More

A five course set menu with three of the courses having a second option. In short the first two courses were passable but not enjoyable. The next two I really did not like and the dessert was very good. The bread was good, the french wine we chose excellent and one of the two staff we interacted with was French,... More

Amazing food combinations in a great dining adventure. All 5 courses were beautiful, everyone at our table thought that the lime posset was literally the best dessert we have ever tasted.

Went for dinner last night and experienced the 5 course set menu with the sake matching. Loved the sakes! Amazing. We had great service too by a particular young woman whos name I didnt catch but she was very nice and attentive which enchanced our experience there. Its a $300 meal by the time you add a few wines as... More

Needed to see what the fuss in hottie Hobart was about so booking planned weeks ahead. This was picked ahead of Ethos Eat Drink - even the moniker is enough to raise a concern that it's all very well to buy and cook produce of the day but embellishment with rumoured snippets like which side of Mt Wellington the onion... My Partner and I were lucky enough to get a last minute reservation at the restaurant which we both count it as the best meal we have had, a true experience. We have also dinned at ‘The source’ restaurant at mona and found Garagise 100 times better. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual making the focus on the food and... More

I feel like perhaps my palate is just not refined enough for Garagiste-type affairs. I went with friends, who had made the reservation, and we had the 5 course tasting menu. I can't really say that I loved any of it, except for maybe the ice cream at the end. I wasn't wowed by any of the dishes, I wanted... More

We went on a freezing Hobart evening and that may have influenced the initial impact this stark grey room had upon me. It wasn't too cold inside but it did take a long time to warm up. The degustation menu offered choices within two of the courses so we made sure we had two of each to sample everything. No... More

The food & service here at Garagistes in Hobart are excellent. You can even book now. Communal tables don't suit everyone so best you know. The menu is degustation and the time between courses can lag a bit. Ours was a five-course menu and it took around two and a half hours.
