Good but not excellent!!!

We came to this place to eat out to celebrate a birthday as there was no other choice on a Monday night that was either open or not booked out. It was OK food in a place that has no real atmosphere run by a group of young pleasant people that appeared to be learning waitering skills. The food was... read more

Pretty average really - it was so hard to order because the language barrier was just ridiculous. I mean for peats sake we enjoy the cuisine but atleast get someone who understands English to take the flippin orders please.. The dumpling were not that great either, but it's relatively cheap - they mixed up our order though and kept trying... More

We visited for lunch on the Hobart show day and were pleasantly surprised by good range of food available at a great price. Overall service was okay but would stop me from rating at 5. The food was great however and I would definately recommend stopping in if your after some good priced dumplings! Grab a pork bun as well... More

Had dinner here 18th Oct 2014, was pleasantly surprised. Reviews for this place are mixed, but I wonder if some diners expect too much? The panfried chicken dumplings & chicken laksa were great, but for me, the best plate on our table was the roast duck. Serves were big, none of us could finish our meals! Prices are cheap &... More

Firstly the steamed pork buns are incredible, no one here makes them better! The shop is located conveniently in the heart of town, its usually packed around dinner time so it can be hard to find a seat. The food is delicious and affordable, really fills you up!

A lunchtime treat. A plate of sumptuous panfried assorted dumplings seemed like a great idea. The reality didn't match up to the fantasy unfortunately. Bland, dry, weird tasting(?), and one with a mystery filling I'd neither seen nor heard of before. I won't be returning. I will post photo. No freshness detected, not a prawn or identifiable anything that wasn't... More

I found the variety & food here most acceptable. The price wasn't bad, either. As the other dumpling world has no vegetarian options,I feel it needs to be said that this Dumpling World restaurant in the CBD of Hobart is complimentary of the fact that the other restaurant was very disappointing. With the choice,I recommend to everybody to go to this dumpling world, just down... I chose to eat here because it was very near where we were staying at the Fountain Hotel and I just fancied a big bowl of wonton soup. It was tasty and plentiful and at $11 filled me up just fine. Saw a lot of people getting take away and eating in which is always a good sign. If you... More

Stopped here at around 7.45pm one night and had dumplings and a laksa. There is plenty to choose from on the menu. The dumplings were only pan fried on one side but were still very nice. Laksa was lovely with a beautiful rich soup. Service was pretty quick. The rice looked nice and got a thumbs up from the teenager... More

Ordered dumplings and laksas for a quick easy holiday meal, one work, Yuck! My daughter ordered the steamed red bean dumpling and you could of thrown it at a brick wall it was so hard ?? You pay $14 for the prawn laksa and get 5 prawns and the rest those so called "look a like don't taste like" prawns,... More
