It was great to be greeted warmly and served so promptly. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food was fast and fresh. Not oily as so often many sub-continent curries are. The Raja Banquet for 2 people is excellent value, but make sure you're hungry. If you happen to order a banquet and have favourite dish, you can ask... More

This is THE place to get authentic Indian food in Hobart. We shared 3 curries, rice and naan bread between 4 people and it was the perfect amount of food. Generous servings. Fresh and aromatic curries that tasted great. Not the cheapest Indian food, but still reasonable prices. Rice was included with the curries.

This place looked good - very busy with lots of people coming in for take away. The staff were very nice and we were seated quickly, despite not having a booking. We ordered a banquet for two as we thought it was the easiest option to try a few things. The entree items were disappointing - all over cooked and... More

I was initially excited to go to Annapurna in North Hobart. It's a fairly well known restaurant and alot of people I know love it. Have to say, I was a little disappointed. There were 5 of us squashed onto a four person table, even though we made a booking and other tables were still free. I had the butter... More

Annapurna favourites- Malai Kofta- four kofta balls in a rich creamy curry sauce and Dahl are standouts. Pre-ordered takeaways are consistently ready for pickup in the timeframe arranged which is an important point of difference when considering Indian takeaway in the North Hobart area. Consistent value and standard.

We were so pleasantly surprised by this place. It was a late public holiday and the area is tourist central but this Indian was the best we have ever eaten. Not oily, just extremely yum! We would go back in a heartbeat! Butter chicken and eggplant were particularly great.

After so many excellent reviews we decided to try this one in Elizabeth st. Even as non-Indian we found the dishes extremely bland and tasteless and the lamb rogan yosh was also pretty bad value as well - 3 star rating is May be even too high and so many 5star ratings are a mystery to me,
