Great food, great for families too

Recently had our traditional "end of holiday" meal with my spouse and 3 kids (10, 8 and 3). Service quick, decent size servings, beautiful lamb korma, lamb saag and butter chicken, and accompanying rice serves also a good size (unlike a lot of indian places). Atmosphere is great - fun, lively and... read more

My husband and I have a tradition of getting our butter chickens and cheese and garlic naans almost every Friday night at Annapurna. Recently we have been ordering through an app called 'Eat Now' which is just an online based ordering system, and it sends a text to advise when the meal will be ready. On friday night we ordered... Was vacationing in Hobart and decided to take a chance on takeway from here. Great choice! We often find that Australian Indian food lacks flavour, and always lacks heat. Annapurna didn't! Beef vindaloo was amazing! Only criticism would have been that they should have told us that the order came with free white rice - probably wouldn't have ordered biryani...... More

Delicious flavours and good portion size. I ordered butter chicken, medium heat, garlic naan and rice. The heat was perfect and the meal very tasty. The bread was tasty and had a good texture. Mango lassi was also very good.

Evening meal at Annapurna generally what you get at most Indian restaurants in Tassie - smallish portions for mains, cheese on Naan bread(?) but what you need to watch is how many serves if rice you pay for vs what you get. Ie " do your mains come with rice? "Yrs". Actually no so double check that your version of... More

We frequent this great North Hobart establishment on at least a monthly basis. The staple for us is 'Aloo Matar' - a pea and potato curry. Service is always friendly. A meal with rice can do for two people so great for budget dining.

I am more of a accommodation reviewer/blogger and it isn't my habit of reviewing restaurants, however I was disappointed to read a particularly bad review of this restaurant, and I hope to assure the experience described by that patron is not what I have encountered. I have been a loyal patron of Annapurna for ten years. Like any good restaurant... More

Picked up takeaway Indian from here. Food was good, quickly put together. Naans were beautifully cooked and home made. A little disappointed that cutlery wasn't automatically included in a takeaway order, which we didn't discover until back at the hotel.

Upon entering this restaurant my friends and I did not have a reservation but as they did not look busy we asked if there was a table available. We were met with blank stares followed by a rude suggestion that we plan our time better and that they were a popular business who would not serve us. This should have... More

I love North Hobart and I LOVE Annapurna up here. I just had to make a return visit and this time I ate in. It wasn't as "exotic" as I had thought when I have been here previously for takeaway but I was a lone diner, so have to accept that they generally give lone diners the worst table in... More
