One of Adelaide's best restaurants

This is one of Adelaide's gems. Red Ochre was founded in Adelaide over 2 decades ago and remains one of our best. it specialises in using native Australian herbs/foods including crocodile, kangaroo etc. We ate there recently and enjoyed very dish. Pleasant location but expensive. Every meal came with an expensive side dish. Staff were more interested in looking after what appeared to be a table of corporate bigwigs than little old adelaidians like us. Pity because we always tip generously according to the service we are provided with. Won't be going back unless it's someone else's shout.

Set right on the river the location was great. We had a selection of meals across our table of five. Oysters were lovely, salt and pepper crocodile was tough, steak was over seasoned, emu a bit tough but pork belly and salmon were delicious as was the kangaroo. Wines and the service were both lovely. If you would like the... More

I really enjoyed my evening at Red Ochre. The atmosphere was friendly, the staff were helpful and knowledgable. The food was perfection and so was the wine. I had a liquid toblerone for dessert and it was like heaven in a glass. The view across the river changed by the minute as the sun went down and it was a... More

I had dinner at the Red Ochre, and I was a little disappointed. We were with overseas tourists, so we had a very Australian menu. Crocodile entree, Red Ochre Grill, and a desserts tasting platter. Salt and Pepper Croc was OK, but the crumbs were soggy, and really didn't get the salty and peppery experience I am used to with... More

Saturday night in Adelaide and we could book this restaurant at 4:00pm on the day. Should have been our first warning sign. We were seated at a table where the table light was dirty and broken. Picture attached. Beautiful setting but the windows were dirty, including the cobwebs in the corner. When we had booked I mentioned my garlic allergy... More

Perched on the Torrens, what a magnificent setting and very roomy and acoustics brilliant. The meals are great too, ingredients were excellent quality. Guaranteed to please. The desserts were done very well.

Worst service and attitude experienced at a restaurant. From wait staff to management, the only thing they could get consistent was the poor attitude and terrible service. If you're happy to pay, and put up with that, for the view; fine. If you want a pleasant dining experience then give this place a wide berth.

We booked this gorgeous restaurant sitting on the banks of the River Torrens for our NYE dinner as it was walking distance from our accommodation. There were six of us and all I can say it was amazing , having done Melbourne and Sydney this has been our favourite so far. The outlook was a superb way to see in... More

Fancy turning up to a restaurant and finding there is no disabled access and steep stairs to negotiate with a 90 year old parent with arthritic knees. We had to carry her! I think this is illegal. The service was poor and the food so-so for a lot of money.
