Description: Red Ochre Grill restaurant enjoys one of Adelaide’s best city locations. Literally sitting on the water the restaurant has beautiful river views and wonderful night time city views from every seat in the restaurant. The restaurant is a 10 minute walk along the River Torrens from the Adelaide Festival Centre and or 10 minutes cab ride from any city hotel. Additionally there is ample free parking. The Red Ochre Grill is a spacious stylish contemporary room and our approach to service is professional and informed without being stuffy.

We try to get to Red Ochre at least once per year and have never been dissappointed. Their Duck is always divine. Herself will often confer with the waiting staff and follow their suggestions - a fail safe technique since the staff are always on the ball with how things are happening in the kitchen.

My family booked this restaurant for my birthday celebrations, I hadn't been here for a number of years and it took me by surprise again with its gorgeous backdrop of river and light reflections. The styling is in keeping with its location and nothing was to much trouble for the staff, they were attentive and yet not intrusive. The meals... More

Disappointing is the word that springs to mind here. Taken to dinner by friends, we felt embarrassed for them.....Thinking this was somewhere worth while. Set on the river Torrens,.. the night time reflections of the promenade upon it are quite a nice backdrop however the decor and restaurant it self are from the 1980's....I think?? To be honest we were... More

service is what you expect for a fine dining restaurant, i am quite sociable with staff and did find staff accommodating for my personality. Drinks list is good and the 3 wines we chose were quite good. I would like to say the meals were impeccable but 2 of the 4 mains were under cooked. A scotch fillet steak was... More

The restaurant has very good views to the river and the service was very friendly. We had the aussie dish, with kangaroo, crocodile, emu, quail and venison chorizo. The meat was good and well cooked and it was a nice experience to tray all those kinds of Australian specialties. However, it is expensive, 135 aus dollar for two people, with... More

Two visits to this restaurant in a month - first with our couple friends , the second business with a delegation from China. First visit main course we chose was the platter for 4 - selection including salt and pepper crocodile, venison sausage, kangaroo fillet, camel, emu, and quail. The crocodile was sensational, but the emu and kangaroo a bit... More

The Red Ochre used to have a good reputation for flavour and using Australian ingredients. Not much if this was evident last night. Most of the shared platter of entrees was pre-prepared, and while this in itself is not a problem, the obvious lack of freshness was. That theme continued onto the mains of Barramundi (first bit of Aussie fare... More

Very good food and service. You can try out some Aussie delicacies (Red Ochre Tasting Platter) if you're brave enough such as crocodile meat or kangaroo (which I didn't have - they're too cute to be eaten). The fish I had was marvellous - Barramundi. The location isn't too convenient if you don't have a car (or for a tourist)... More

Attracted by the Festival of Food offer, a group of us decided to book a mid week dinner. Service was friendly and attentive but a little slow despite the rather quiet, cold and wet night. The food was beautifully presented and the mains - without sides - were just right for small ladies' appetites. Only one of our party was... More

We were a large group of 24 that ate here June 5, 2014 as part of a dinner after a long day of board meetings. Service was very fast and the food very good. Great selection of wines and after dinner drinks, especially the Penfolds Grandfather Fortified Wine - Tawny. It was fantastic with our Chocolate Fondant dessert for an... More
