A beautiful dining room overlooking the parklands. Our menu has a large selection from premium seafood (scallops, Atlantic salmon, tuna) to exquisitely slow cooked pork, lamb, chicken and juicy tender steaks. We have a number of vegetarian options and most of our dishes are available gluten free. Our chefs are very happy to prepare one off meals to suit any dietary requirements and cook special dishes to accommodate any allergy. We have our more traditionally styled menu with Entrees, Mains and Desserts. We also offer a smaller portions menu - our Temptation menu which is based on affordable entree size dishes. You can decide how much you want to eat - two courses, three courses or create your own degustation menu.

Great restaurant

Very attentive service and a lovely meal at Barton's! The restaurant has a warm and quiet atmosphere which is great for conversation. Prices and portion sizes are reasonable. The "Cali Cafe" is noisier but has the usual pub fare, well prepared and of good quality at fairly standard prices. Movie meal deals including tickets to the quaint, Art-Deco, cinema nearby... More

In this hotel you have a choice of bistro or the a LA carte restaurant, we chose the restaurant because we wanted to use our entrainment book gold card. The room is large and bright is a lovely setting. The service is excellent, and the food is well presented and delicious. I had $37 Scotch Fillet steak cooked medium rare... More

Nice atmospheric hotel and restaurant on the edge of North Adelaide. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The meals were expensive and certainly going for the "quality not quantity" market. If you're looking for decent, honest, good value pub food, then this isn't the place for you. If you want to pay fancy restaurant prices for good quality food, then... More

Tried this restaurant on Sunday evening for Dinner and for the most part, enjoyed the food. The waitress was very friendly and although the place was empty, we still had a long wait for the entrée. Apparently, the chef got it wrong the first time round and had to re-do the dish! All conversations between the kitchen staff and waitress... More

After 50 years from school graduation 30+ old boys had a great lunch at the Caledonian. This hotel is in the very popular O'Connell Street restaurant alley. We had a function room adjacent to the beer garden with TV and self-contained bar. Lunch was excellent with a wide choice of menu, two fish, lamb-pie,seafood pasta, steak and Caesar salad. 30... We dined at Bartons early in the week, so was relatively quiet. Food was good, but not outstanding. Selection on the menu good, but quite expensive for the dishes. The "boss" was serving on the floor, so service was good, unlike the drinks waitresses in the main bar, who didn't have a clue. So all in all, was quite good,... More

Same number of staff as our last visit about a year and a half ago, but despite being booked out, they managed quite well and always with a smile. The menu isn't extensive, but we managed to find something suitable for each of us. Food was good, but I wouldn't rave about it. Bit noisy. Good parking out back. Couldn't... More

Bartons Restaurant is the formal restaurant at the Caledonian. It has a pleasant ambience, with a feature wall displaying a wide array of wines, and picture windows overlooking the Parklands. The menu aspires to something better and more inventive than a typical pub meal- with pricing to match that aspiration. It's quite a pleasant place to visit if you're in... More

Came here with some of the people I work with for dinner. Drinks were great, and the food was fantastic. One of the others commented the steak was the best he had ever had. I had the Barramundi which was very good also. The service was very quick for our group of 8 and the staff friendly. It was a... More
