Came here with some of the people I work with for dinner. Drinks were great, and the food was fantastic. One of the others commented the steak was the best he had ever had. I had the Barramundi which was very good also. The service was very quick for our group of 8 and the staff friendly. It was a... More

We visited here for our first wedding anniversary dinner recently, as we had celebrated our wedding a year earlier at the Caledonian. After reading some of the recent negative reviews about the restaurant, we were a little bit pensive. However our experience was nothing but positive. The staff were terrific, the food was amazing, and the wine list serviceable. We... More

We arrived on a Monday without a booking. Luckily they were able to fit us in as they restaurant was fully booked that night, and they did it with a smile. We then asked if we could use the Entertainment Card - not a problem. The service was excellent. I have many food allergies and usually dislike dining out because... More

Popcorn sprinkled over my chicken? Guessing they ran out of ideas, the waitress was no where to be found when needed. Wished I had read reviews before visiting they are spot on.

Made a reservation in advance which was no where to be found on arrival, the waitress said this often happens"sorry". Food very average could find better in a frozen box. Charged $2 each for a tiny roll which most places give complimentary(we dine out a lot). Wished the experience had been as good as the pictures shown.

Went for a Birthday celebration, 4 people, told to be there for 7.15pm. We arrived approx 6.45pm, so thought we would have a drink in the bar, all good so far. We entered restaurant at 7.15pm. No staff member acknowledged our entry, we were just standing in the middle of the restaurant, rather awkward. Eventually we were seated, no menu... More

We were shown to our table and that was it. No menus and no one approached us. Looked around and could see other tables of people who had also had no service. So we rang another restaurant then left. I let them know why we were leaving but they didn't seem to care. Would not bother returning.

My husband and I dined at Bartons Restaurant for the first time ever because we had some Split the bill vouchers. We are so glad we did. It is a new discovery for us, The Caledonian Hotel appears non-descript from the outside, outward appearances have never encouraged us to wander in despite living 5 minutes away. Fortunately we gave it... More

Went for a birthday dinner with my wife and everything was OK. Food was nice without being great, service was fine without being exceptional and overall it was OK. Great chardonnay on offer, so that was a bonus. Scallops were nice, but very small. No bread roll offered, smallish serves of nice food, but overall it was OK. Service was... More
