We decided to give this restaurant a try after reading good review on TA. It was meant to be a special night as my brother had recently started working and wanted to celebrate the time (and spend money) with my parents..we have a fussy vegetarian family and wanted to try something different rather than having our parents always try indian... Great quality selection of dishes delivered prompt and tasty. My favourite Sake, the cloudy Sayuri Nigori was also on the menu which means this place is a real Japanese restaurant! We enjoyed the gyoza, sashimi and salad to start, followed by some tempura and wagyu. Good friendly service.

The first time we went to Gyo I was blown away by the super fast service and the amazingly tasty and fresh food. Plenty of choice for those of us who don't like seafood or seaweed flavours. We shared a meal off their tapas menu and loved every mouthful. I am more than happy with their prices and would gladly... More

I normally have Lunch at GYO with my friends when we have lunch break. I love gyoza set meal with spider sushi, karaage plate lunch and I always recommend to my friends about GYO. Last Friday night, me and my partner decided to go for dinner because we never had chance to have dinner at GYO. There were so many... More

Tried to find a restaurant for Valentines Day when away from home wasn't easy. They were either booked out, wrong number or under construction. I eventually sent an email to GYO. They promptly replied with the confirmation but I didn't realize it was a Japanese restaurant. Previous experience with Japanese food wasn't enjoyable. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was... More

Had dinner with some friends. Given the reviews was hoping for some decent Japanese. The meal was nothing special. Quite decent serving size for the karage. The sushi was incredibly expensive and for the price, quite small. I'd not rush back here, it's nothing amazing and well over priced.

This was a real treat up here in Townsville, having come from the quality and variety of cuisines that Sydney has to offer. In our first few outings, we had experienced only one or two hits and a large handful of misses with our restaurant choices, but I suppose that can happen in any city when one is new. We... More

My husband researched this resturant and it was listed as one of Townsville'sbtop eats. Well....this was proved more than true! This excellent meal was served promptly by beautiful staff who couldn't do enough for us. the sashimi, sushi, squid and crumbed chicken was succulent and very generous in size. I recommend this resturant to all. 5 stars!

We ordered the seafood tepanyaki, deluxe sashimi, prawn tempura, and dengaku nasu. The prawn tempura was juicy and fresh. Make sure you try the seafood tepanyaki - delicious. The waitress was very attentitive and helpful.
