We had been walking around Jezzine Barracks all morning and enjoying the beautiful scenery and weather. So we walked down to the Strand to get some lunch. This Café was the first in line. We ordered fish 'n' chips. It was fantastic. A little more than what you would pay at a fish 'n' chip shop but the view over... More

Overpriced, measley portions. Dried out fish, wilted salad. Need to pick up their game. The local fish n chips shop around the corner is better value for money.

Worst dining experience during seven years in Townsville (and anywhere else on the planet). We arranged a lunch for 20 people. We worked out the menu options and pre-ordered. We were assured that the food would be on the table at 12:30. We arrived at 12:30 and no one there knew we were coming. The attitude of the staff was... More

Holy heck how long does it take to make a price if grilled fish and some chips? An eternity here, apparently. Fish turns up...well not really since there is no table service. It's cold and tiny. Half the size of my palm ($12 bucks each for the pleasure of each slither). Chips were the 'dregs'...no potato in them and just... More

We visited this cafe twice whilst in Townsville. Great views, hubby reckons the best coffee he has had it was perfect, nice selection of cakes. Second visit was for icecream YUMMO. Very relaxing astmosphere looking out over the rockpool

Ordered barramundi & it came out stringy to eat as it was still raw in the middle, the salad of snow peas & sweet potato was full of sad lettuce, strange looking tomato, odd tasting sweet potato & two slithers of snow pea. Complained about the raw fish & old salad, another piece of fish came eventually with a huge... More

I honestly cannot believe the bad reviews this place has received. The food we ordered was absolutely amazing & fresh & we cant wait to come back for more! The service was fantastic with the staff going over & beyond for their patrons. The place was packed which says to me that it is popular & has people returning. The... More

When this establishment was Rockpool Cafe it was very good. It's now called the Fish Inn or similar, and very poor. Thin fish batter hardly cooked. Old, sad salad and don't mention the oil the chips are cooked in. This was the third, and definitely the last time we will 'give it a go' since the new people took over.... More

I went to the Rockpool while on holiday in Townsville recently and to be honest for the prices it really isn't anything special. I ordered the salmon which i couldn't even finish because the skin was so salty and way overdone. Our food took nearly an hour to be served! It was just really meh! It cost nearly $80 for... More

I used to come to the Rockpool at least once if not twice a week with either my kids or to catch up with friends for a meal and a coffee. It's true that it was starting to look a bit sad from an aesthetic point of view, but I didn't really mind as the service was always fantastic and... More
