I was looking forward visiting the tea house then to take the kids on the little bush walk. Was disappointed there were no cakes displayed at all... and limited food offerings for dietary requirements. Kids got a pie and milkshake... looked like it was bought from the servo... and my zucchini slice and salad was drenched in dressing.... Although I... More

Thank you for your review Stella. I apologize that our staff did not bring to your attention the sign on our cake display fridge which advised customers that the fridge is currently our of order, but that all our delicious sweets are still available. We are also always appreciative of practical advice on menu items from people who have special... More

This olde worlde Aussie tearoom was worth a visit, good choice of menu, nicely served and tasty nice walks too although a bit hot for us Poms and a six week old joey! Must be lively in your winter to wander down to the tunnel etc.

Apparently, this is the oldest remaining building in north Queensland and it certainly has some interesting history about it, which you can read on the signs and historical books at the tea house. Nice outdoor dining area with big umbrellas for shade, making it quite pleasant even on a very hot Townsville mid-summer day. No views across the range from... More

Great atmosphere in a genuine heritage home. It's just far enough away from Townsville that you really feel like you're escaping the hot humid city, but close enough to just drop in for lunch. Food and coffee is consistently good. Worth the drive. One of our favorite places to bring visitors.

We have visited these tea rooms many times as locals to Townsville and its on the 'must do' list when friends and family visit. These tea rooms recently changed ownership and the service and food is much improved. The caramel tart is decadent and my husbands favourite. The home made scones, in about 10 different varieties, are my favourite. It... More

We visited for morning tea. It was lovely to sit outside under the shady trees and garden and enjoy our delicious scones and great coffee. You have the option to sit outside or inside the tea room building. The heritage building walls are lined with historical memorabilia, lovely old building with a lot of original features. There is also a... More

I visited last week and ordered a Big Breakfast, which goes for $19.50 from memory. I like my eggs poached but they don't do their eggs poached...only scrambled or fried.... I asked for scrambled but they had apparently run out of scrambled eggs - used them all the day before. Hmmm.... They're eggs! Crack them, add milk, scramble... It's very,... More

I have passed the Tea Rooms turn-off on numerous occasions since 1997 when I first moved to Townsville. I made the plunge last weekend, steering my motorcycle up the Herveys Range Road escarpement accompanied by my 11 year old son. I'd promised my son a big breckie, which I'd been told were worth the 30 odd minute drive alone. The... More

We recently visited the Hervey's Range Heritage Tea Rooms and wondered what it would be like with the new owners. We weren't disappointed. The service was excellent, the food was tasty and the coffee nice and hot. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well they catered for gluten free diners. I enjoyed a delicious Walnut and Pear tart while... More

We stopped in at the Heritage Tea Room for an afternoon tea to finish off a great camping trip up the Range. The Coffee was better than most in Townsville and the scones were soft and delicious. We love the rustic feel of the Tea room and the historical memorabilia the covers the walls. Well done to the new owners.... More
