My grandmother lived in a 100 year old former post office when I was young. This place with its wood stove etc reminded me of then. I was a bit worried reading some of the reviews, but we had a fantastic breakfast served by friendly staff and the coffee was the best I have had in a while. An enjoyable... More

I went here for brunch one Saturday with a girlfriend, reminded me of going for Devonshire tea in the dandenongs, as the day was cold and wet (I kid you not). Well, the place is, or course, built to get breezes, so it was funny trying to get a spot that was warm. It's an old qld outback place, so... More

A beautiful part of the world to visit. Very scenic drive up from Townsville. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk to the look-out (some extra signage and written history would have been helpful) although the hostess at the tea room did fill us in later. Had a very delicious morning tea.... the coffee was hot and the slice/tarts were scrumptious. Would definitely... More

Paid $14.00 for COLD bacon, eggs and toast! Eggs were like rubber. It looks like the staff cook the bacon and eggs and 5am and keep it on the bench. Bacon was cold and rubbery and even the fat was starting to set. Very disappointed. Coffee was weak. Asked for it to be a bit stronger and they charged me... More

What a lovely drive up in the hills to this Tea Rooms. It was a perfect day, and am pleased to say had the perfect coffee. It took awhile to get ( you need to work on this girls) but the scone and jam and coffee were worth the wait.

Nice food , good service and a lovely setting to enjoy both. I would have liked to see more information posted around, about the building and its uses over the years. Any thing relating to this is on one table in one room...it gets a bit crowded. Also why not promote and offer locally grown tea and coffee. We have... More

We have been coming to the Heritage Tea Rooms for a number of years. After the previous management, we gave it a miss for a long time until the new owners took over. We've been back twice since. It seems to be a popular eatery as there are always quite a few diners. The buildings and surroundings have a nice... More

And that is pretty well where it stops. We drove up there on our trip in January for the drive and to do something touristy. If your going up for those reasons and for a but of history them its worth the trip, if you're going for food, I'd possibly look for something else. My husband wanted a Devonshire Tea,... More

We were travelling from Charters Towers to Townsville through the Hervey's Range Road, and decide to stop at the Heritage Tea Rooms. The place is beautiful, quiet, and very relaxing... We had a chicken and cheese sandwich (average-good) and a lemon-merengue pie (absolutely excellent!!), and some green tea. The food is good and the price is reasonable. You can find... More
