Firstly we were put at a table that back onto a thoroughfare. Dreadful ambiance. Then we were moved to an awesome table. Happy with that we ordered and were excited to eat from a restaurant with such great reviews. I am a green curry fanatic and I had the worst green curry I have ever had. The prawns were great... My husband and I heard about the lovely Thai food and we knew it was a special place as soon as we saw the decor, those elephant chairs!! The service was fantastic..the food authentic and presented beautifully. There were a few people eating in the restaurant from the hotel above with their kids, but the place is big enough with subdued lighting... More

Have enjoyed dining at Chiang Mai Thai (Surfers Paradise) a few times now. Always an enjoyable experience....although not a fan of the wooden chairs carved in the shape of elephants - very heavy, nearly put your back out trying to move in and away from the table !!! The service was excellent, waitresses looked after our table very well, very... More

Its priced a few dollars above similar places but has good food. I might be picky but I did wish they served their duck boned. I have dined in the restaurant and gotten take away and bot times the food has been very good.

I like this restaurant for its beautiful food and also the way the staff are presented and act. Also the décor is out of this world you could certainly be in Thailand.

I often dine at Chiang Mai Thai - mainly because I love the ambience. Comfy wooden chairs carved in the shape of elephants, lots of Thai stuff, great atmosphere, Thai costuming and plenty of Thai bling, makes this an interesting place to dine. The food is lovely and not too expensive and the service is slick. Sometimes a little too... More

Lovely meal, arrived with no booking, but had a drink at the bar whilst waiting and were seated within 10 minutes. Sat outside near the water feature and it was lovely. The meal was delicious and coconut rice was bomb. The four of us had entrees and then we shared a couple of curries and some rice. This was more... More

Enjoyed the entire Thai experience. The outdoor seating had a very Thai feel and the food was fresh, tasty and not too spicy for those in our group that don't like it hot, yet for those who asked it was spiced up. There was a wait to get in but was worth it.
