Possibly the best Italian on the coast?

There are plenty of Italian restaurants on the coast as we know, but this little gem really stands out. Great prices and authentic Italian food seems to be standard for Alfresco, the same can be said for the friendly staff that make you feel right at home. Highly recommended!

I pre-booked this restaurant from Sydney for my mum and daughters birthday dinner for 15 of us (all from Sydney) based on tripadvisor reviews. I even sent an email requesting a birthday cake which they offered to organise and I would pay for. It all seemed too easy. Firstly, it was an extremely busy restaurant and so service was very... Ok, let me start by saying this not a place you will taste fresh authentic Italian food. The menu is bland and not unique at all. It is an average run-of-mill Americanised-Italian restaurant, where you'll find spaghetti bolognese, lasagne and Hawaiian pizza. Also, from what I tasted, the pasta was from a packet and the sauce from a can. This... More

We're from Brisbane and were staying at the Watermark Hotel for the weekend, and as usual we were pondering which unique restaurant we could have at Surfers Paradise. My TripAdvisor locator suggested Alfresco as the closest one with excellent ratings. So we gave it a shot, we walked in around 7:30pm on Saturday and it was very packed. Took a... More

This restaurant rates very highly by trip advisor patrons, so we thought we would go see if the critics were right! I had the best spaghetti marinara ever, and I have even been to Italy. My partner had the lasagne and it was divine. The service was perfect, could not fault this family owned restaurant of over 30 years in... More

The pizza from this place is excellent. We arrived in Surfers Paradise quite late in the evening. Despite the fact that the kitchen was really closing down, they made us a couple of takeaway pizza's, which were fantastic.

The food was pretty good, basic Italian. The service was abysmal. There's one woman trying to take everyone's payment (eat-in and take-away customers), input take-away orders and bag take-away orders. For goodness sakes, employ someone who is solely dedicated to take-aways and let the poor woman concentrate on getting eat-in customers out the door once they have finished.

The service was excellent n the owner was very friendly n we learned that this place has been around for quite a while. Food was mediocre. We've tasted better Italian food.

We were hesitant to eat at this restaurant because it looked like an average restaurant from the outside. However, a couple of people had recommended it and it had good reviews on Trip Advisor so we decided to give it a go. The place was very busy and the food was good quality and tasty. A good, solid Italian restaurant... More
