We went there due to the positive feedback on tripadvisor and it was absolutely finger licking!!! Yummy!!! Don't wonder when getting in...the outside is a bottle shop with a pub and you might won't expect a restaurant. But when you get in you will get the best steak ever! It is delicious. Try it!!!!!

As others have noted, the steak is very tasty and Will's spiel about various cuts of meat is entertaining. But that's all. Our chips were awful and the salad was even worse. And when we were charged an extra $10 for unknowingly ordering extra chips and salad (neither evident on the plate or desirable, it turned out), we felt we'd... More

The steak was great, very tasty. But the vegetables were out of a packet and had obviously just been microwaved. The steak was the only good thing on my plate. The atmosphere is very poor, you definitely don't have to get dressed up.

Having come back after a long break i am still impressed on how tasty these steaks are. The owner has some amazing passion and i am always using this place as a first stop for out of town guests. Keep up the good work Will!

Heard about this joint so thought we better try it when next in a Rocky. Did a drive by in the arv and were a little unsure as to how good this meal would be because from the outside, the Ascot is a traditional old Qld pub and looked a little run down. Granted, the restaurant is nothing flash but... More

Ok lets start by saying this is not a fancy restaurant and if you wanted a candle light dinner for two with soft music.... forget it. The decor is basic and the lights are up high but that isn't really why you are here. You are here because everyone that has been here says the steak is great and you... More

The steak is amazing and the experience was awesome. The chef presented us the steak and the procedure we were supposed to follow. Even though it takes a while for them to prepare the plate, the experience and flavor were simply amazing.

It was an experience to eat here cooking your own steak. The steaks are good but the vegetables are reheated so I wonder what the chef actually does. We had booked to stay in the backpackers upstairs and that was awful. After seeing what is upstairs and can be seen by the public I dread to think what the kitchens... More

I visited my husband here over the long weekend in June 2014, and had read reviews on Tripadvisor to visit here, I was expecting a little bit more and was disappointed. I keep saying to my husband that this was meant to be one of the best restaurants in Rockhampton, as he thought it was a dive. We made a... More

The steak is great, the staff are friendly and cheeky, and the steak is great! If you are worried about cooking your own steak, don't be! You just chop it up like normal and sit it on the hot plate - easy! The only thing I find disappointing is that the place is almost always empty - why is everyone... More
