It was an experience to eat here cooking your own steak. The steaks are good but the vegetables are reheated so I wonder what the chef actually does. We had booked to stay in the backpackers upstairs and that was awful. After seeing what is upstairs and can be seen by the public I dread to think what the kitchens... More

I visited my husband here over the long weekend in June 2014, and had read reviews on Tripadvisor to visit here, I was expecting a little bit more and was disappointed. I keep saying to my husband that this was meant to be one of the best restaurants in Rockhampton, as he thought it was a dive. We made a... More

The steak is great, the staff are friendly and cheeky, and the steak is great! If you are worried about cooking your own steak, don't be! You just chop it up like normal and sit it on the hot plate - easy! The only thing I find disappointing is that the place is almost always empty - why is everyone... More

I will admit, from the outside this place looks like your average small town pub, but do not judge a book by it's cover. This is by far the best steak I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. The owner was absolutely great, loved the welcoming speel he put on, and all up for 5 people + several drinks... More

As everyone says the steaks here are great but the limp chips tasteless veggies and cafeteria atmosphere take alot of it away.

Found that place here and gave it a visit! Best dinner desicion we made. You get in depth knowledge about the muscles and structures of the beef. The owner is a man of beef, he takes the time to show you how to prepare and eat your steak the best way. The meat you get is a blast! You grill... More

I love my food. I love a good steak even more! The humble Ascot Hotel in Rocky was without a doubt the best steak I've ever had. My wife, Claire and I took mate David Kelly from Inverell there for his birthday. We ended up having an experience! As mine host Will Cordwell said, the steak had its own flavour... More

The meal was amazing and incredibly filling. The only option here is cook it yourself steaks on a hot stone which is why we came. It's a fun experience. I expected a large fancy restaurant but it's actually a rather old and small pub with only a small dining room so don't expect five stars. It seems the pub is... More

Delicious steak which as others have mentioned you can cook just the way you like on the hot stone grill. Very tender and flavoursome meat. Will is a great host - very welcoming, taking the time to get to know our family and clearly knows a lot about his steaks! His style may not be to everyone's tastes however as... More
