We had a lovely dinner here at this awesome spot by the river. The service was friendly and good. Yes, except for a wine glass drinks were served in plastic 'glasses'. The atmosphere was good and the food was excellent.

After dining in for lunch sitting by the Fitzroy river l couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting. The disappointing thing was it's an Asian fusion menu, not specifically Vietnamese, l wasn't offered chopsticks, l specifically requested for bean sprouts not to be added to my Pho, the decor is extremely tired and l had to get up and... Handled a large noisy group booking with ease. Prawns were plump and perfectly cooked. Great hostess, looked after the kids, juggled the alcohol order and managed to get all the picky eaters accommodated. Well done, and its not expensive. Will visit again. .

Took my wife out to dinner tonight and was looking for something different. Sadly I didnt get it. Ive never been to a Vietnamese restaurant before so I was expecting a totally new experience. Firstly this is a Vietnamese restaurant run by Indian folks. While that is not an issue for me, I knew from the onset that no way... More

I took my wife there for our anniversary dinner. It's a really nice atmosphere, nice people, good view (especially of a night) also very easy to get parking of an evening/night with well lit street.

I love the venue on the river and the food is always good. The house wine is not as good as the food. Stephen the former maître D was fantastic and I was sorry to see him go behind the scenes and on to another restaurant owned by the same people.

Well worth going for a meal. Consistently excellent meals served, staff lovely, venue beautiful with outdoor seating overlooking the Fitzroy river. Value for money. Recommended.

Overall a very good experience. Reserve if you want a table outside. Mixed entree, pepper mock duck and sticky banana rice all recommend. The only dampener was a big bug crawling near my feet. But that makes it a central QLD experience, I guess :-)

Don't get me wrong, Saigon by the river is, or rather can be a great restaurant. I've had many great lunches and dinners there while I was living in Rockhampton and the location and view of the river is hard to beat. The main problem of the restaurant, in my opinion, is consistency. You may have a great dish one... More

We just turned up on a Saturday night, without having made a reservation, and got a table. Initially, we were a bit apprehensive but as the time passed it turned out there was absolutely no need. The food was first class as was the service. The waitress was efficient, polite and very helpful and her professionalism was only topped by... More
