The venue by the river is very good but it is let down by the food. The Deep Fried Dim Sims were heavily coated in batter - never saw that before. The Chicken & Cashew Nuts was bland and the Sweet Sour Pork was a small cube of overcooked pork in thickly coated in an oily batter with a small... More

This is no longer a Vietnamese restaurant but more towards Australian Chinese. Entrees were the usual spring rolls etc. The rolls were OK but not much filling. The biggest surprise was the sweet and sour pork. Instead of the usual thinly coated pork there were very large doughballs with a smidgeon of pork in the middle and the sauce was... More

There were six of us who wanted to eat on a Monday night that was a public holiday. Very few places were open in central Rockhampton. Despite not having a booking, the staff welcomed us and were prompt with their service. The menu was extensive so we chose various dishes. All of the food was delicious and filling. We would... Have never had a bad meal here. Will continue to dine here for as long as it is open! Great views, great service and the food is to die for! Love it!

Despite its name, the Saigon provides a principally Chinese menu. Nevertheless the dishes were excellent, prepared quickly and served very hot. After a few weeks of pub food in the outback it was a refreshing change to have some quality Asian food. The service was great and the meals reasonably priced. Just don't expect Vietnamese dishes!

Have dined here multiple times and always enjoy. Staff are always efficient with service and food is tasty, fresh and always out in great time. Decor is dated, but I believe everything else makes up for that. S&P tofu is a must

Went for Lunch on a Saturday, expecting some nice pho or the like reminiscent of my travels to Vietnam. Was disappointed, noodles were undercooked and soup was of the kind found in 2 min noodles. I am not sure if I had a bad service, or if this is normal. Nothing like the good food in Vietnam!

Talk about cultural (con)fusion! My first Vietnamese restaurant without a Vietnamese in sight. After weeks of solid anglo-australian fare we were desperate for some Asian flavours and this was the recommendation of Trip Advisor. The wine list was adequate and the food about the same. The service was prompt and friendly and there was no problem with finding a table.

I was impressed by the quality of the food at this restaurant. The service was good on our visit and the food is delicious. I was particularly impressed by the vegetarian choices. I had the mock duck, and this was the first time I'd tried it. No real negatives.
