We visited here on Fathers Day as it was the first year we had been away without our children (now adults) and they wanted to treat us to a nice night out. The atmosphere is so relaxing from the moment you get there, you are taken to a lounge area for pre dinner drinks. The cocktails were fantastic. Staff are... More

A truly stunning location with food to match. Excellence on all levels, setting, service and food. At the higher end of prices, but well worth it.

Wonderful meal on our recent holiday to Port Douglas. Cocktails and champagne in the canopy, then led down to a beautiful table that made us feel like we were deep in the rainforest as opposed to 100m from Macrossan Street. Entree and main were both of a high standard, with the highlight undoubtedly being the tiger prawns that came as... More

Dining among the trees was such a lovely experience. We felt spoiled as the staff was very attentive and ensuring that we were enjoying ourselves. As we were celebrating, we opted for the 7-course degustation dinner. It was a real treat. Each dish was perfection. We were less enthused by the wine list as the 'by the glass' options were... More

A holiday in Port Douglas would not be complete without a visit to Nautilus restaurant. This must be the most idyllic surroundings in a rain forest setting on a wonderful warm evening. The menu provides tasting plates of 5 & 7 courses or a la carte. We chose the latter with both ordering eye fillet with tiger prawns.A modest serving for the... We were looking forward to returning to the Nautilus after many years, to sample their signature dish of pan fried coral trout once again.the waiter informed us that this has been their signature dish for 30 years. However we were very disappointed with the standard of food. The entree of 4 goyza were very small and under cooked. The pork... More

I've been to nautilus several times over the past 20 years and had many great meals but this time the matradee was surly and rude. The food was ok but not what it used to be we had signature dish coral trout and unfortunately it was over done and dry. We had to cue to pay our bill and listen... More

This place certainly has a nice atmosphere. Children and babies are not allowed so you won't be upset by any unhappy patrons. I had the degustation and while the food was sensational it was very light on. I didn't really feel I had satisfied my appetite and I am not a big eater. The wait staff are transient and so... More

I'm not going to go on and on about Nautilus. If you're in Port Douglas and looking for a genuinely unique fine-dining experience, you should make a reservation. We had the 7 course tasting menu, with matching wines... And everything worked! The service staff were the most polished of any of the establishments we dined in during out stay in... More

My partner and I (28 & 30 from Sydney) had been recommended this restaurant as a really magical place with great food, which it was! You feel as though you are dining in the middle of the rainforest, surrounding by tall trees and romantic lighting. We chose the 7 course tasting menu after seeing how great the menu was and... More
