The concierge at the hotel recommend this Thai place and we tried it out. It was really good and we enjoyed it very well. If you don't find a restaurant first then go to this really good Thai place.

Me and my wife visited because we love thai food. So very disappointed in the food and service. Our starter came out in roughly 4 minutes from ordering, My fish cakes were disgusting. Chewey and resembled spam. The main was ok. But not restaurant standards. I had to ask for cutlery after my food was served and I had to... More

If you are visiting Port Douglas from Cairns you will be disappointed with the Asian food except for a few fusion places like watergate. In fact the star of Siam was decently priced Thai food with okay service. The location gets crowded so they clear your seats fast. The green curry was watery but tasty and the pad Thai was... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local but it turned out to be the worst meal we had on our recent visit to Port Douglas and Cairns. The famous of all Thai soups was a nice flavour but the prawns were very tough. The spring rolls were very hot temperature-wise but very chewy. The beef and vegetables in... More

I visited Star of Siam with my girlfriend who is from Thailand and she was giggling like a school girl at the opportunity to eat authentic thai food. I too loved the food it was fresh tasty and spicy. We had the BBQ Octopus entree Pad Thai Prawns, and Chilly Chicken all were great and soaked up the juices with... More

We had a lovely meal delivered to our apartment after a fun but tiring day on the water. We can recommend the chicken satay, chicken wings, chicken and cashew and pad Thai - great flavours but not too spicy for a 4yo. Delivery took only 40 minutes. Highly recommended.

The choices here seemed inviting after perusing the menus of nearby restaurants. My husband ordered the Nuae pad nam mun hoy (Beef with oyster sauce) and based on the description I ordered the Gai Yang (BBQ Chicken) described as: "This dish comes from the North East of Thailand and is a BBQ chicken marinated in turmeric, pepper, salt, garlic and... Dined here with 2 friends. Lovelly tasty Thai food with a wide variety of dished on the menu to choose from. With so much to choose from would recommend sharing and get a few between everyone. Service was a small bit slow and it looks like the close up early so don't leave it too late in the evening to... More

I went here about 10 years ago & it was really good food. Went back earlier this week and was not disappointed. Booked a table at the window and ordered the seafood casserole. It was the most tastiest Thai I have had. It was so good we ordered take away a few nights later. I was a bit sceptical that... More

Just what you need in the heat. Great service and a nice setting. Bring a bottle from the Bottlo right next door and have a very good value meal. We had beautiful fish cakes, spring rolls, prawn laksa (which was quite mild but tatsy) and bhed ob - a lovely duck dish, with rice for $58. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly... More
