We had had just the best lunch at On the Inlet, played Golf for the morning and arranged to have a lunch just before the kitchen closed - well let's say the staff fitted everything together perfectly and all four of us enjoyed a beautiful meal of Coral Trout - not only cooked to perfection but served with a big... Our visit started with a few drinks whilst watching the feeding of the Grouper at 5pm. Rumour has it that 'George' has gone and they are trying to entice a new grouper to feed near the jetty of the restaurant. Still entertaining though and then onto dinner on the deck overlooking the ocean. Nice spot to watch the sail boats... More

On the Inlet is a great little restaurant overlooking the river in Port Douglas. The food is always good. They have a resident groper that comes in for food at around 5 pm each day. Worth being there to see that, the kids will love it also. Tip for the day - wear insect repellant.

On the Inlet is a nice restaurant overlooking the river at Port Douglas. If you have children there is a very very large groper that gets fed at around 5pm in the afternoons. The children will love seeing this amazing large creature come up for food. Great photo opportunities. The food is always good, and if you are into prawns... More

Not exactly easy to find for the non-local but glad I did. Well positioned on the seafront, nice atmosphere - nothing pretentious. They were fairly busy, I had no reservation and I was dining alone; usually a recipe for being politely turned away. Not so in this case - I was put at a very good table (not even in... More

My husband and I enjoyed a great evening at this restaurant. The cuisine, the service, and the atmosphere were all excellent. Our waitress also made very helpful suggestions for menu choices, which we followed and were very happy with.

We were recommended to go here by one of the locals and it really exceeded our expectations. The staff were lovely and accommodating, even explaining to us all about mud crabs on check out which was quite interesting. We ate here for Lunch; the view from the deck overlooks the ocean, very relaxing. Look over the balcony and you’ll see... More

A lovely location overlooking the marina. We had their signature seafood platter - oysters, king prawns, bugs, mussels, shrimps and a mud crab, sashimi and dips, with salad and fries. All excellent quality, though we found the mud crab hard work to get meat from. The seafood platter was $180 per person and good value. Friendly and efficient service. Highly... More

advised by friends (who don't have a child) to try this place out - have a few drinks , eat and as a bonus get to watch George the groper feed . We arrived and were told quite rudely by the guy at the door we couldn't take out stroller into the bar or restaurant and there were no tables... More

We ate here twice, on our third visit to PD, and looked forward to it from the moment we booked the trip. The weather meant there were no good sunsets during our stay this time, but the view is stunning if the sky is clear. The fish curry was a bit bland, but I guess that's fish curry for you.... More
