Sunset cocktails and a bucket of prawns

It doesn't get much better than this. Sip a cocktail, watch the boats return and enjoy a bucket of prawns. Get there early as this place fills up quickly!

We ate here on the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. The food, and the service were first class.

Was put off a bit when our waitress not only suggested the most expensive item on the menu but unabashedly asked us to add a tip onto the bill. Otherwise a nice experience for an upscale seafood restaurant by the water.

Highly recommended to have dinner there. Start with watching George The Groper feeding at 5pm and have a drink at the bar. Book a table in advance and enjoy delicious seafood while watching the boats return to the harbour from their day trips in a beautiful sunset atmosphere. Service is great and the staff really friendly. You can ask for... More

We had dinner and enjoyed the location and the friendly service. Food was never exciting, however. Scallops as entree were truly uninteresting and the chilled prawns just ok. Barramundi was good with a pleasant middle-eastern twist. Prices are reasonable snd the wine list quite good.

We saw the terrace with people eating from the deck of a boat cruising back up Dickson Inlet to the Reef Marina. My wife liked the look of it so much that she insisted we go straight there from the marina and try to get a table. They seated us on the terrace, and had a great view of night... More

We having been coming here for years. Many people visit to see "George" the grope at 5pm nightly (check that time), and this is a spectacle, with the massive fish leaping out of the water in front of you. This experience can be shared with a bucket of prawns, and a glass/bottle of white wine. Then, hang around and stay... More

Hi Ronnie, thank you for taking the time to share your happy review. For fellow readers, we offer "Sunset Specials" at the Groper Bar between 3.30-5.30 pm with one of our team feeding George the Groper at 5.00 pm. George is an enormous (quarter tonne) wild Groper , who has been popping in for years for a tuna frame (or... More

An exciting place to grapple with the crowds, enjoy wine and seafood as the sun goes down. The restaurant was booked out and we were told we could 't eat there, but we found stools with a view of boats coming and going, near where they feed "George" the Groper fish, ordered some wine, and checked what the locals were... Really beautiful location on the water. Didn't see the big groper but got to see the thousands of bats and birds that migrate right past the restaurant at dusk,

Had a great lunch here. After ordering, smelt the curry and commented how good it smelt. The waitress was kind enough to serve a bowl of the curry sauce for us to use on the side with the dishes we ordered. So good, we had to return to order the curry alone. Great service, great atmosphere, reasonable prices. Well worth... More
