Cheap eats in season

We strolled on around to the Yacht Club to have dinner (as it was highly recommended to us), (generally I book in advance but this time I didn't). The extremely relaxed, open salacious atmosphere was very inviting. We enjoyed a few drinks with a of the water - very happy. Unfortunately the kitchen... read more

We found this place based on word of mouth from one of the Coles checkout staff and it was out favourite place to eat in PD. Great food and great service with friendly staff which made you feel like they've known you for years. Clearly a local favourite as we sat on the deck watching a large group come and... More

It has a great location and has a very relaxed family friendly environment. I had the fish n chips and thought it was the best I had in Port Douglas!

The Yacht Club is not much to look at, but is relaxed and super friendly. Great club style food of a high quality, specials were the standouts as the standard menu is pretty basic but solid. Lather up in insect repellent if going for dinner, I felt light headed when I left from the amount of blood the mozzies took!

We read the reviews and decided to give it a go. One of the reviews mentioned it was pretty serve yourself and it was, which made us laugh. The lady behind the bar has minimal but comedic customer service, she certainly knows how to charge for a beer though. You find your menus, then order at the counter at the... More

You don't go to the PDYC to enjoy the best food Port Douglas has to offer, for that you go to Harrison's or Nautilus. However, the yacht club is in a fine location with a level flat lawn that protrudes into Dickson Inlet and is fringed by coconut palms overlooking the working moorings and marina area a few hundred metres... The yacht club invites tourists to join member yachtsmen onto their boats for a sail on Wednesday afternoon. And then after sailing, you join the captain and crew for dinner. This is a fantastic experience for any visitor to Port Douglas. The sailors are friendly and hospitable, and the yacht club itself is in a great location right on the... More

Just another club type meal service. Restricted menu and poor service were the main features of this place. Not well located as it was a bit of a wlk.

We visited the Yacht Club on a Tuesday night (during school holidays). We arrived in daylight and sat at our booked table on the lawn. The place gradually filled up with other family groups while we were there. It was such a beautiful picturesque setting with plenty of lawn for kids to run around. The food was really nice and... You can't go past a restaurant which provides a totally relaxed atmosphere, good food at a great price. This is not fine dining but you probably won't get a better dining experience in Port Douglas. A limited menu but most expensive item of steak (with choice of sauce) was under $30.00 as was fisherman's basket. Make sure you book to... More
