The motto of the club is, " this club was built for fun " - which sums it up pretty well. However it does do the food an injustice, which is way better than standard club food but pretty much at club prices, including the drinks. The atmosphere is very nice, the view is fantastic but the food is just good, not really special. It wouldn’t be my no. one restaurant to go for a dinner.

The atmosphere here is very relaxed and casual. Decide what you want to eat, go to the desk to order and pay and then relax over a drink until the food arrives. It was winter time when we were there so, although this is (covered) open-air dining (an open-sided verandah) next to the sea, there wasn't much to see because... More

We ate here during our Port Douglas trip and it was great value and our meals were delicious. I recommend the curry! The staff are ver friendly and the laid back atmosphere was just what we were looking for after our day on the reef.

the best location in all of PD for a friendly, good quality feed - we went 2 times in 2 weeks and it was great both times - Highly recommend the Curry of the day. Cheap drinks at the bar - the food is a little on the $$$ side however great value. The local members seemed to really go... More

Free Wednesday night sunset sail with the locals and dinner with the skipper and crew at the YC afterwards, what a genuine Port Douglas experience. The food is good and the setting unique. Do take mossie repellant if you're there around sunset.

We went to the Yacht Club on the recommendation of locals. We got there early, about 5pm, and we had rung ahead to reserve a table for 3 - myself, my wife and my 7 year old son. Getting there, we were told our table wasn't ready, although we could see many a vacant table without reservation cards on them.... More
