Stopped in for a coffee and a bite to eat, really good coffee and delicious food. I loved sitting here and relaxing in the shade then checked out the book store, great fun!

Coming from inner-city Melbourne we are spoilt for great coffee on our doorstep, so we are usually apprehensive when we leave our 'hood'. What if we can't find good coffee? Disaster! We needn't have worried. The coffee at Whileaway is consistently of a very high standard. We visited at least once a day during our stay and only had one... More

We feel so great to have been able to provide you with the coffee quality and consistency you were looking for while you were here on holiday. Thankyou so much for your understanding of the technical problem we had for a few days and for letting us know how much you enjoyed the books and the atmosphere. Thankyou. More

I adore Whileaway, and I don't even drink coffee. I love to go and browse the wonderful selection of books (I'm always impressed by the variety) and despite the shop almost always being super busy, I've always managed to find a table to myself to sit and enjoy a pot of tea. Also I'm completely addicted to the mini quiches.

Thankyou for highlighting the fact that you don't have to only love great coffee to enjoy your visit to Whileaway, as we take great care in the selection of our loose leaf and chai tea. Our homemade individual quiches are firm favourites of ours as well, so we very much appreciate your compliments. We look forward to seeing you on... More

Good seafood restaurant, very well located in the Main Street. The Seafood Tower looks totally intimidating so we squibbed it and ordered two courses each. Very enjoyable.

Ironically this cafe became my haven for the best coffee in Port Douglas. They use their own mix of beans & for us it was a creamy mid strength blend. The venue is great with the bookshop forming part of the cafe allowing you to browse & they have an excellent range for adults & kids. Cakes offered were also very... More

Thankyou so much, we really valued your visits and it makes our day to get such great feedback. We do apologise for the lack of coffee over your last weekend, we absolutely needed to shut up shop on our coffee side to correct the problem, hope to see you on your next visit. More

Wanted to love this place, great setting with a book shop to boot. Sadly the coffee the main attraction was a let down. Ordered two coffees a FW and soy latte, the later burnt milk was unpleasant and weak for our liking. The FW soo hot and again missing the desired punch. Sent the latte back second time more pleasant.... More

Many, many apologies for the problems you experienced during your visit. Our coffee machine was experiencing some major technical problems that only became apparent after a day or so, and we consequently had to close up our coffee machine for 2 days to get the problem sorted. I think you may have been one of the few unfortunate visitors whose... More

I have been a long time visitor to this lovely place. To be surrounded by a good selection of books, while experiencing great coffee and service from friendly staff is a must!!!! If your in the area this is highly recommended.

I had coffee and citrus tart. Both were delicious. Its a great place for the single traveller staff were not fussed that I was sitting at a table for four. The bookshop itself is great and has a lovely children s nook

Okay coffee, good tea and books - I love this combination. The food was very good and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff were friendly. The opening hours also were good for us. Early in the morning and later in the afternoon.

During our 9 day stay in PD my kids dragged me to Whileaway almost daily. The coffee is a little on the weak side for my taste, but the service and ambience more than make up for that. In any case, my kids loved it. The brownies and other cakes were excellent. Surprised to find this place in such a... More
