Re-opening of an iconic Port Douglas pie shop which closed for some years recently. Was possibly the best known pie shop in Australia due to the unique meat pie filling recipe. Now re-opened by Nigel Quinn using the original and still secret pie filling recipe formulated by Mocka Cheyne and his mother Belle Cheyne. Good place to try an Aussie meat pie

Just a small little pie shop, good place to try an Australian classic, the meat pie. Not the best pie I've ever had, but decent. They also had some fun exotic flavours like crocodile. When we arrived there wasn't much selection but they made a new batch while we were there so we had a bit more... read more

If you like a pie don't miss this place!! It's hard to find a good pie these days but this place certainly knows how to make them sausage rolls and pasties are also fantastic.

I was starving, and the Supreme Beef Pie filled the spot. Piping hot and delicious - bigger than an ordinary pie, and plenty of chunky beef, bacon and tomato.

Crocodile laksa? Kangaroo?? Yes please. Pies were reasonably priced and came warm and crispy. You can order, pay and either ask for a plate and silverware to eat there or ask them for a container and utensils to take on the road. The shop is simple and cute. An entire wall is covered with awards from local and national competitions.... More

Great little pie place if you are in Port Douglas with a craving pie for lunch. The pastry was nicely crisp and the sauce flavoursome. the supreme pie had bits of ham, egg, onions that blended well with the sauce. And the chilli steak actually had a bit of kick to it. A little pricey, but I believe worth it.... More

This seems to be a Port Douglas must try, and it is certainly is worth the visit for a pie if you want a quick lunch but if you were not staying in PD it is not worth the drive for a special treat. The pies are honest and flavoursome, but Aussie pies are and this is a good example... More

Good pies, but very overpriced for a pie! Would love to go back but paying $6 for a pie is a bit rude.

I have become addicted to Aussie meat pies. They are an institution here and one of Australia's great contributions to civilization. Mocka's make a very good steak and kidney pie as well a steak and mushroom pie. Check out the book "guide to Australian pie".
