Description: Re-opening of an iconic Port Douglas pie shop which closed for some years recently. Was possibly the best known pie shop in Australia due to the unique meat pie filling recipe. Now re-opened by Nigel Quinn using the original and still secret pie filling recipe formulated by Mocka Cheyne and his mother Belle Cheyne. Locals of the area rave about this spot, and it is pretty good for a bakery. My husband was keen on the mornay pie and it didn't disappoint. The seafood in it was very fresh. I had the Cornish pastie which I loved, you can actually see what was in it which is great, I any stand it when it's... More

We were recently in Port Douglas for a 50th birthday. Needed to get some food to cater for 20 people on various days from dinner to lunch to nibbles & birthday cake. We contacted Nigel before leaving with details of what we would need and he was fabulous. He bought our first nights dinner and cake & nibbles to us... More

If you don't have a problem chomping on the nations favorite marsupial then do try the kangaroo pie - delish, highly recommend.

Happened to see their sign while strolling down Macrossan Street so decided to have a takeaway pie. Glad I did as the Crocodile Laksa pie was delicious. Well worth a try. Outdoor seating also available.

We got a pie and sausage roll and took it up to the look out to eat before a day trip and we both loved the pies but were both disappointed with the sausage roll, did not like it at all. Wish we tried a few more of the pies.

We were searching for a reasonably priced place to get lunch.. so we came here Sadly this didn't quite hit the mark in terms of price, 7.50 for a pie and $5 for a sausage rolling. I had the barramundi pie which was nice and tasty. Hubby had a small croc pie and large beef pie which he wasn't that... More

Have no idea why this place is so talked about..rubbish pies, salty with no flavour. Mocka's pies are not in the same league as "Yatala Pies".

For the price and quality can't give a high recommendation. Fair but not great. Also quite often in Oz a steak pie is usually minced meat so look for chunky steak if that is what you prefer.

We stopped here to pickup some food for breakfast on our way to the Mosman gorge park. The pies and food were of good quality, but the coffee was burnt. Other then that we would return to Mocka's.

Now and then in Port Douglas you just need a pie or an eclair without the trappings of a fine restaurant or a noisy cafe or a busy pub. So it's great to buy a Mocka's Pie and either take it home or to the beach or park on the footpath outside and enjoy it either from a paper bag... More
