Description: Re-opening of an iconic Port Douglas pie shop which closed for some years recently. Was possibly the best known pie shop in Australia due to the unique meat pie filling recipe. Now re-opened by Nigel Quinn using the original and still secret pie filling recipe formulated by Mocka Cheyne and his mother Belle Cheyne. Try the Chilli Beef Pie thoroughly enjoyed it! Big chunks of beef with just the right amount of chilli. Little loved her mini pie too.

This place rocks! It's full of tourists and locals and people like us who visit PD frequently! I ordered a Birthday Cake and it was delivered to the restaurant for a small charge! Very Good Service. Great Pies etc, cakes galore! It is busy, busy, busy! You simply want a good quality, yet traditional Bakery on your Aussie Holiday and... More

Was overcharged/shortchanged $17.10. Returned 1 minute later and was told nothing could be done about it. Really left a bad taste in my mouth. Pun intended.

Don't know why they don't boast more. This is a North Queensland icon. The pies, sausage rolls and pasties are world class. Mecca pies has been In Port Douglas for as long as I can remember and the quality has not diminished over the years. If you are travelling from. Overseas you must try the pies. Nothing compares.

Best spanakopita. Yummmm. The pies were excellent. I tried the Green Curry Chicken pie and I was not disappointed. So different and so delicious. Worth trying all of them I say..... Every day a different pie! Could be very very dangerous !

Mocka's is a lovely place to start the day. the coffee is excellent. The muffins and cakes are very tasty. We never had meat pies before. We tried the spinach pie. It was very good. Everything is made fresh daily. The staff is helpful and friendly. There are tables out front to enjoy your goodies.

That says it all really. The Pies are famous although I did not try one this time. To get a good pasty you need to go usually to South Australia, so it is good to see such a high standard in Far North Queensland.

My family are all partial to a good pie and thought Yatala Pies were the best until we found Mocka's pies in Port Douglas last week. Th fillings were delicious and the pastry was the best we have ever tasted. Flaky tops and good firm bases and sides. No leakage at all. With out a doubt 'Simply the Best'

All sorts of pies, from ones for the tourists (croc) to ones for the pie purist (chunky beef). Excellent light flaky pastry and beautiful fillings.
