Description: Re-opening of an iconic Port Douglas pie shop which closed for some years recently. Was possibly the best known pie shop in Australia due to the unique meat pie filling recipe. Now re-opened by Nigel Quinn using the original and still secret pie filling recipe formulated by Mocka Cheyne and his mother Belle Cheyne. Great pies, My 3rd visit Tuna, Steak and Kidney, sausage rolls all great tasty and freshly cooked. The only let down is the service or lack of it, a please, thank you and a smile would make all the difference,

I consider myself a bit of a pie connoisseur and my wife is fussy about the pies she eats as well and by joves, some of the best I have tried in Oz and NZ. They are a magnificent example of a good pie

We stopped in at port Douglas on our way to cape tribulation and my husband has not stopped raving about the seafood pie that he had! Our Canadian friends loved the pastry and we even tried an extra sweet treat! Yummy yum! Thanks again!

A must for all travellers. We actually had a group of 20 and Mocka's Pies did some of our catering. They offer a huge variety of flavoured pies, pasties etc. They also do magnificent cakes.

Locals of the area rave about this spot, and it is pretty good for a bakery. My husband was keen on the mornay pie and it didn't disappoint. The seafood in it was very fresh. I had the Cornish pastie which I loved, you can actually see what was in it which is great, I any stand it when it's... More

We were recently in Port Douglas for a 50th birthday. Needed to get some food to cater for 20 people on various days from dinner to lunch to nibbles & birthday cake. We contacted Nigel before leaving with details of what we would need and he was fabulous. He bought our first nights dinner and cake & nibbles to us... More

Happened to see their sign while strolling down Macrossan Street so decided to have a takeaway pie. Glad I did as the Crocodile Laksa pie was delicious. Well worth a try. Outdoor seating also available.

We got a pie and sausage roll and took it up to the look out to eat before a day trip and we both loved the pies but were both disappointed with the sausage roll, did not like it at all. Wish we tried a few more of the pies.
