Re-opening of an iconic Port Douglas pie shop which closed for some years recently. Was possibly the best known pie shop in Australia due to the unique meat pie filling recipe. Now re-opened by Nigel Quinn using the original and still secret pie filling recipe formulated by Mocka Cheyne and his mother Belle Cheyne. Excellent Pies

A very good selection of very tasty pies. Very enjoyable and plenty of meat in them. We also purchased a cake which was very good . We took the pies back to our apartment, we had a very enjoyable and cheap meal. Highly recommended

We are not big eaters and were very pleased that these excellent pies came in small (childrens) sizes as well.

Not worth all the hype. Really excited to try these pies buteos pretty disappointed from my gluggy flavourless meat inside the pie

They have a lot of award winning pies but I just kept going back because I loved the pasties; can't comment on the pies because I didn't end up trying them.

Me and my wife like a good pie. on our trip we went to many pie places this was the clear winner. Good crust and nice tasty meat filling. We had the steak pie (but they had pletly on interesting alternatives) the meat was perfectly cooked and the gravey had had a light but complex flavor. Perfect.

The pies themselves were excellent but this is also just a very good bakery with good eclairs and other options. Cheap and easy.

We purchased 2 potato pies from this bakery and it really needed spoons to eat it as the meat inside was so runny that as soon as you tried to take a bite it just ran everywhere and the whole pie fell to bits. Gave up and binned it.

Had my first mocka's pie in 1981. They are still good. The shop has moved from macrosan st to grant st and much more modern facilities. No more sitting in the gutter to eat them there are tables outside.

Worth the search. Loved the meat pie and the big chunks of meat! Sausage rolls looked nice too. Must try!

This place is a bit of a local icon and with good reason. The pies we had (shepherds pie, been and pea and steak and kidney) were pretty good. The sausage roll was ordinary but then I have never been a fan of that genre. Service was a bit disorganised but good. There is plenty of seating outside. So a... More
