Description: Harrisons Restaurant exists in a setting that is made for romance and fun...
Harrisons Restaurant exists in a setting that is made for romance and fun. The colonial style house and colourful gardens create a wonderful atmosphere for cocktails, romantic dinners and celebratory events. Food is skillfully created using produce that is always fresh and preferrably local. Spencer Patrick, owner of Harrisons, has navigated Harrisons as an award winning restaurant since it's inception in 2007. Harrisons has consistently held national accolades for it's food and wine and stands alone as Port Douglas' only One Hat rated restaurant in the QLD Good Food Guide. Spencer's style draws from his training in classic French cuisine and love for all things English. His belief is that good food can be enjoyed any where in the world, but what better place to enjoy it than in Paradise!

Memorable wedding reception

We had our wedding reception at Harrison's last week and I have to say that they went above and beyond for us making it a night for us and our guests to remember. Perhaps the usual chef was absent? But the food was awful! Some dishes were over salted (and I love salt!), some were bland. Portions and presentation was excellent, but I would not recommend it. I am looking forward to a couple other restaurants next time. I do hope this bad experience was simply due to regular staff being absent. Also,... More

Food was exceptionally good - very creative and tasted great. Unfortunately the service leaves a lot to be desired, very basic stuff not done or done badly, to the point where it overshadows the food. I get that it's a tourist/holiday town, so they are limited in the staff they can get, but at the prices they are charging there... More

Four of us had dinner at Harrison's this evening and we were disappointed with the menu and it was definitely not value for money. The food was fairly well presented and wine list was extensive lots of national and international wines on the list. Unfortunately the wine we preferred - Torbrek - was not available. The staff were relatively attentive... More

What a wonderful location and venue. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. This was one of the most disappointing restaurants we have been in for quite a while. It was not busy, the whole time we were there, but as we did not have a booking we were shunted off to the side away from other diners. Not a biggy, but... More

Our Harrison's degustation experience was definitely a highlight to our visit in Port Douglas. Every dish was full of flavour and did not disappoint! We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious pigs ears to start and loved the smoked duck and bouillabaisse dish. Front of house were very knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely return.

This dinner was part of a package deal to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary so were offered a restricted menu but no problem making a choice. Ben, our waiter went above and beyond the call of duty in looking after our table of six and we could only recommend this restaurant as others had to us.

We chose the degustation menu. Innovative and clever but not overdone. We chose our own bottle of wine rather than the matched wine option. Nothing really to dislike, each dish was beautifully prepared, not unnecessarily complex.

This restaurant was part of a voucher deal we had purchased, but the extensive menu looks very interesting. We were offered a tasting plate to try to get things going. I have never had pigs ears but it was good. The food was good and staff attentive. Most wait staff in this location are good as tourism is the lifeblood... More
