Lovely food

One of my favourite Cairns restaurants. Veal scallopine is delicious !! Set out well for indoor eating, or alfresco & last time we were there, we noticed they do breakfast too. Shame about the noise, which seemed excessive and put us off going more often.

Today we decided to give villa romana a chance. It wasn't the worst decision. In fact food was good service was nice and attending. The only not so good thing here is the pizza - pasta seafood etc. Is really good!

A friend who had graduated chose to dine here as a celebration after the ceremony last week. We had a booking for 10 although only eight of us were able to make it. The host was rude and when we sat down we waited half an hour before someone came to take our order. The food was mediocre when considering... More

We live in Cairns and fine the service a quality of food very medico. Just out of chance my wife and I had some spare time so we went to villa romama and were pleasantly surprised. Went for breakfast with my family, the coffee was lovely however the food was terrible and over priced. Atmosphere wasn't welcoming, wait staff weren't very attentive and quite abrupt. The service was slow considering their weren't many customers. Plenty of wonderful cafes and restaurants to visit in cairns and unfortunately this isn't one of them.

The place was always crowded so we gave it a try. The pizza and drinks were great (pizza was actually one of the best I've tasted and even the crust was delish.) However, ordering the Oz Experience (whatever it's called with the exotic Oz meat and seafood) that was a bit disappointing as the meat was overcooked and tough and... More

We had late lunch/early dinner at 5 pm, it was quiet and the waiters were very attentive, the main waiter was cheeky and funny and made us feel at home immediately. My cocktail was great, very refreshing muddled lime & vodka. The dips & bread were the best we have ever had, particularly the eggplant!! Yum. My scallops were delicious... More

The atmosphere was dreadful. It was loud with wait staff shouting at each other, slamming plates down - a conversation couldn't be had. 8 people at our table and one meal was returned as it was still cold from the fridge. The fish was overcooked, the meatballs huge. the polenta and beefcheeks was terrific. For the price paid the meals... More

The waitress didn't really understand the menu, we asked what dips they had and salmon, sour cream and eggplant turned out to be taramosalata, tzatziki and pickled eggplant. I thought it was funny. We stopped at the restaurant because every table had a huge bowl of amazing mussels and they did not disappoint. Pretty basic, but hit the spot.
