We came here for dinner, the waitress asked if we were locals so we told her we were on our honeymoon. At the end of the evening she brought out a nice little congratulations platter, so that was a lovely touch. We had entrée platter which had an array of interesting looking and great tasting morsels. For main we shared... More

We were on our honeymoon in Cairns in May 2013 and wanted to go out to dinner. I found Tamarind through online reviews like trip advisor. I called and made a booking, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed a wonderful meal, entree, main and dessert. The decor was modern and exotic, and the food was different, but... You can experiment a great restaurant, friendly service, with the scents of Asia and Europe. The price was reasonable, with a good Australian wine, could go upto AUD 160.

We have eaten now at Tamarind on at least 8 occasions and every one has been special. Its wonderful to have a touch of class in the far North and food normally only seen in the big two and three hat restaurants of the South. The tasting plates combined with old favorites are a great way to go with the... More

My partner & I dined here just before Christmas last year. The restaurant itself has a very romantic feel to it, and there is plenty of rooms between tables so you don't feel cramped. The service was excellent, and the food was even better. I recommend the quail & tuna for entree and the whole baby barramundi for a main.... More

I'm quite surprised at the high rating given by others as I thought the restaurant was just ok. Part of the problem may be that, finding it too cold inside, I chose to sit outside and not many other customers did. They seem to forget about you out there, good luck getting any attention after they set the table. On... More
