We heard a lot about this place and maybe were more dissapointed because of that.nice ambience service average but where the dissapointment lay was in the quality of the food .the local scallops were not local or maybe they were but the shells that they were served in where definatly cold water scollops.irrigardless the breadcrumbs tasted from a pack were... We love Piccolo Cucina! We attended recently for our wedding anniversary. From the fantastic service to the very traditional (read delicious) Italian food we never ever leave here disappointed. Be sure to try the Bruschetta, Pappardelle alla Modenese and save room for some of the beautiful home made deserts. If there is crème brûlée - this is a special though... More

Took an old friend who was in Cairns for a convention out to dinner here the other night. The atmosphere given the open nature of the restaurant was ideal on a balmy tropical night. As usual the food was superb as was the wine. I selected a pinot noir to accompany my meal and was not disappointed.

My husband arranged for us to eat in this quaint restaurant walking distance from our hotel. Warm friendly staff welcome and seat you.... Water appears along with menus. Great range of Italian specialities produced by mamma in the kitchen. Waitresses are family- it's such a lovely experience. Well priced and good value for generous (typically Italian) portions! We loved it... More

Devine Italian food, beautiful restaurant and a brilliant wine list will make this experience memorable for all the right reasons. If you have an enemy who is gluten intolerant you should bring them here to torture them as others eat the most amazing pasta on the planet and they can only watch. This place is very authentic with all the... More

Everything is going for this restaurant. The location is good, the restaurant layout works and the food is excellent. However, the attire of the maître'd (owner?) in sporting clothes with shorts and runners is completely inappropriate to the quality and ambience of the restaurant. It clashes with the aims of the restaurant and seems very strange for such a nice... More

Only place in Cairns where you can go and have something that you can really consider italian. Lovely pasta and pizza, good range of wines and good dessert. Really worth the money

I was recommended to visit this restaurant by a work associate but chose to purchase takeaway. The calamari was ok, the crab lasagne was good, but the spaghetti marinara was dry uninteresting and lacking of much seafood apart from 3 small mussels. Those 3 items as a takeaway was expensive at $74 !! I would probably overlook the standard of... More

One of my favorite Italian restaurants. We always joke about how the food is really good, particularly the home made pasta dishes - but the service is bad. But really the service goes up and down. The owner and his daughter can be a bit abrupt if they are in the mood to be, but the genuine waitress is very... More
