Good food but expensive

4 of us had dinner at Yanni's on a Saturday night so it was very busy. The service was still good and the food was also to a good standard. Maybe it's because I lived in Cyprus for about 5 years that I am a bit picky when it comes to Greek food, but I thought it was a little... read more

A delicious meal, fantastic service and a relaxed ambience with a lovely view. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will definitely return when next in Cairns.

Love the food. Love the atmosphere. Regular belly dance entertainment! The owner often mingles with the customers - lovely man.

A nice and authentic Greek Taverna even down to the strange variability in the appearance and contents of the dishes compared to other Greek restaurants - I like the fact that you never get exactly the same moussaka twice when you visit different Greek places - it makes you realise that it is genuine homestyle cooking. Tasty, friendly and authentic.

Way too much salt used in the lamb casserole. Such a shame. Must have taken hours to prepare something completely inedible.

We booked a table for 6 but when we saw the place we almost cancelled. We are SO GLAD we did not. Loud, fun, laughter, several birthdays (for each WE lead the singing I think), some plate smashing, excellent service and the food was terrific, which was surprising as we felt that it would be ordinary fare for such a... We lobbed in on a Monday night. The decor is 1960s "blue and white' Greek, even with a tipsy maitre d wandering around breaking plates! The food wasn't bad( albeit smallish serves) and prices were OK( Cairns is not a cheap place to dine out)

We had a great table that overlooked the sea. The weather was amazing so that added to the occasion. The service was very good, knowledgeable staff and friendly. Food portions and quality was pretty good, the cost was very reasonable too.

We didn't expect to find a Greek restaurant in Cairns, but what a find! This was one of the best meals we had during our vacation in Australia, and without a doubt the lamb was the best we had ever!

Great staff, service and even better food. I can't say enough about their souvlaki, saganaki and tzatziki!! I would have gone every day. Make a reservation for the patio if you can. You will not be disappointed.
