Very disappointing food, lacking flavour and heat. Ok service. We tried a jug of sangria with our meal which we doubted contained any alcohol.

Well, We have moved up to Cairns from Melbourne.. where we had our FAV Mexican place called Nachos Cantina.. so we have been spoilt. Good Greeting, seating was good, asked if we wanted a drink.. and given Menu's. and there I sat waiting for the Corn Chips and Salsa.. kinda like the water as a freebie. didn't happen.. bugga!. my... Everytime I am in Cairns I order here and when I was a local we would go at least once a fortnight. The staff have brilliant customer service and the kitchen always gets the meals out fast. My favourite is the enchaladas. They do a brilliant cocktail too!

So there isn't a big Mexican influence in Cairns, and as long as you remember that, you can keep your expectations in check. Our food was ok but arrived lukewarm, the service was adequate, and the cost was not outrageous. If you're dying for Mexican, it's the best we found...also the only Mexican restaurant we tried. Stick to Australian and... More

I went to this place full knowing it was terrible but I wanted to experience how bad it was. Do not do what I did and waste your money !! Pretty funny though just how bad it is!!!

The food is very good and tasty. The menu is varied, and has a selection of mexican meals. They have all the right mexican beers also. great value for money even without the early dining discount.

To be honest, my Chilli Verde was quite good both in quality and quantity, but my friends orders a bit over priced and taste were average. Service was good, but would come back only when it's on special. Still, my order Chilli Verde was very tasty :)

In Cairns for weekend and felt like Mexican. Still have not come across any Mexican restaurant that makes a decent hot cheese dip. I make my own, and far better than any I have come across anywhere! Had the Montezuma's Delight for main with shredded beef, though hard to find under all the cheese, however the crispy vegetable salad on... More

Took our two young boys here for lunch and they both tried something different (thank goodness there are no nuggets and chips on the menu!). They enjoyed their meal but especially liked the dessert choice of mousse and churros! They want to go back! I was happy with the service, prices and meals...all very 'typically' Mexican meals. Loads of choice,... More

How can anyone make a nachos so bad? Why did the beef taste like tuna? Why did I wait so long just for my order to be taken? simply because Montezuma's is just bad. It's understaffed, service was slow, the rice was dry, and everything was covered with oily cheese.
