It was the first time my husband and I had experienced cajun food and we really enjoyed it. The portions at Voodooz are large, so we shared a calamari salad to start, followed by entree size portions of the jambalaya and gumbo and this was more than ample! The jury is out as to which one we enjoyed more as... More

The welcome was warm - a good start when out on your own. That continued all through the meal as the owner was present, attentive and not invasive (good skills). Lou Rawls live on the big screen provided great background music and with reasonably close comfortable seating providing a family feel. The meals looked big, so settled for corn entree... More

Our first time at Voodooz but not the last, the Jumbalaya & Gumbo were outstanding with decent size portions (especially the Jumbalaya), my wife had the ribs which were also fantastic. If your after something different in Cairns then this is the place, well done Voodooz and see you next time.

We loved everything about Voodooz from the funky vibe with the cool music and decor to the fabulous food that is delicious with some quirky twists on the menu, like banana mayo with chips (it's seriously addictive!) and the flapjack cornbread - yum!!! The serves are generous and the menu is extensive (in addition to jambalaya, gumbo, fried chicken and... More

Jason and staff have created a little bit of Louisiana right in the middle of Cairns. I grew up in Louisiana and still cook jambalaya, red beans and rice, and seafood gumbo. Voodooz is just like sitting around a family kitchen with good food, good music and a bar for the adults. Stop in and stay a while!

I love Cajun food and this is amongst the best I have ever eaten. Entree size is very generous. Jambalaya is the pick.

Terrible!! Sooo much salt I am ill. I had the jambalaya and my husband had the fried chicken, both had far too much salt. The food is served so hot it burns your pallete. It would have been OK if they had reduced the salt by about 90 percent.

High quality good food. I had the corn on the cob and ribs. Took most of the small portion home, generous portions. Really great atmosphere food couldn't be better. Cairns must try.

We enjoyed a great meal here. One of the best of our month-long Australian trip. I had a creole shrimp dish that was fabulous and my son had the jambalaya which they were able to make without seafood (he's allergic). My husband had seafood gumbo I think. Anyway, we are Cajun food lovers and were very pleasantly surprised that there... More
