A nice surprise. Didn't plan to visit this restaurant but enjoyed the meal. Particularly good after a day at the races - generous portions that soaked up the previously consumed alcohol :) Most women will be satisfied with an entree size for main. Hubby loved the ribs and my seafood gumbo was excellent. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Meals... More

Voodooz is definitely worth a look, we've attended with small & larger groups and everyone has always left satisfied. Corn Bread, Ribs, Chicken Supreme & Pecan Pie are my top picks. Very small kitchen here, but they're cooking with love, service can be a little slow but I promise you will be having so much fun you won't even notice,... More

We went to this restaurant on a shore trip while on cruise. This was the best meal that we had over the entire cruise period despite the fact that we went to all the "pay" restaurants on the ship. The ambience was great. The food excellent.

This is a great little cafe. We went there for lunch, and had a pretty good po'boy (no oyster one unfortunately, but the blackened fish was very good). On another visit I tried the fried chicken, tasty though just a tad greasier than I'd like. So not the healthiest choice but great atmosphere and a good menu.

Who would have imagined you could get very good Okra Gumbo in Australia??? I lost his card, but I believe the Owner is Jason, and it turns out he spent some time in New Orleans and learned to love and prepare the food. Much better Gumbo than any I've had in California and as others have stated, the service is... More

We only had dessert and coffee but we got great service, a great atmosphere and excellent food. Owner operator provides friendly personal service. For dinner; make sure you book - venue is small and very popular.

It was the first time my husband and I had experienced cajun food and we really enjoyed it. The portions at Voodooz are large, so we shared a calamari salad to start, followed by entree size portions of the jambalaya and gumbo and this was more than ample! The jury is out as to which one we enjoyed more as... More

The welcome was warm - a good start when out on your own. That continued all through the meal as the owner was present, attentive and not invasive (good skills). Lou Rawls live on the big screen provided great background music and with reasonably close comfortable seating providing a family feel. The meals looked big, so settled for corn entree... More

Our first time at Voodooz but not the last, the Jumbalaya & Gumbo were outstanding with decent size portions (especially the Jumbalaya), my wife had the ribs which were also fantastic. If your after something different in Cairns then this is the place, well done Voodooz and see you next time.
