Really enjoyed lunch at this restaurant. Service was a little slow at the end when we told the waitress that we had a plane to catch but this was not her fault. There was only one guy in the kitchen doing everything!! Really enjoyed the food

We hit Voodooz on an unfortunate night, as they were short staffed on the floor, but we were still looked after though. The menu contain a number of the traditional NOLA dishes, and the flavours are very authentic. I cannot wait to go back for a taste of teh Gumbo after sampling the Jambalaya.. If you are new to Cajun... More

During dinner the wall opens out onto the street & dining alfresco is an option. Unique but friendly ambiance w open kitchen. Live jazz entertainment. Hubby and I planned a relaxed evening out and were not in a rush to get anywhere, but that said, svc here was sloooow Fri. Sept. 26th. The restaurant desperately needs a bartender who not... More

Nice jazzy setting and yummy food! Have been to this restaurant multiple times and all the dishes we tried have been yummy! The service could come across slow during peak time/a lot of diners but all is forgiven when it is worth the wait for such yummy food.

Looking for a restaurant in walking distance from our hotel, this one had good Trip Advisor reviews and sounded a bit different. On phoning up owner Jason Smith assured me he would look after us and he sure did- table for two right away, so friendly and funny. I had seafood gumbo and hubby had Sothern Fried chicken. Wow the... The food here is quite nice - it's unusual to find southern food in Australia so it was good to try something different. The portion sizes are huge but you do pay for them - I thought it was slightly on the expensive side for what it was. The service was very slow, even in the middle of the day... More

After arriving at a reasonable time (7:30), it took 15 mins for some one to ask us for drinks whilst taking our order and a further 15mins to get a soft drink and a beer,we didn't mind the wait hearing how good the food was and changing our dinner plans to go to this place, we waited as I watched... Must go restaurant if I ever visit Cairns again! I ordered New Orleans Red Beans and Rice for myself, Blackened Fish for my mum and Voodooz Oyster Bar for snacks, with Banana Foster as dessert.

A nice surprise. Didn't plan to visit this restaurant but enjoyed the meal. Particularly good after a day at the races - generous portions that soaked up the previously consumed alcohol :) Most women will be satisfied with an entree size for main. Hubby loved the ribs and my seafood gumbo was excellent. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Meals... More
