Nice but small

The meal was lovely but really small. Compared with other restaurants in cairns they will struggle if they don't increase the meal size.

I am giving this restaurant big thumbs up. I just loved their food. Scallops were cooked to perfection and tuna was seared so well combining together wonderful flavours. It was the best restaurant I ate in Cairns with the best views of the harbour. Staff was really friendly and professional and I would happily pay more for that type of... More

I must state this lunch was complimentary by the hotel because of some problems with our stay (see my review of the hotel). However, this doesn't affect my review. The shared plates were beautifully presented and filling with excellent service. The night before we had cocktails at the bar which were very nice and the Canadian staff very friendly yet... More

We were standing long minutes waiting for a table, nobody was even looking at us, I have to chase a waitress that I need a table for 3. She then said go to the bar first I will have a look. The place was not even full.

Food was beautiful, staff were friendly! We ordered the mushroom ravioli and the squid for starters, both were great. Then ordered the Moroccan lamb and the beef fillet for mains and they were both sensational !

My husband and I spent New Years Day at the Shangri-la bar as we do quite frequently. Often when we go to bar8 or north bar as they are now calling it the bartenders are on their phones or gossiping amongst themselves. Normally we have to wait until they feel they are ready to start serving customers. Today is worth... More

We went here for coffee and thought we'd order some pancakes for a snack (pancakes are on the lunch menu). I was asking if we could have the cream etc on the side, which turned into a lengthy palaver from the waiter that can be summarised as: the lunch pancakes aren't pancakes, but crepes, is this ok? Well yes, it's... More

Ate here last night. Fantastic service and the best pork fillet I have ever eaten. Husband had a great steak. Only downside was very few vegetables but the flavour was supreme. Hope to get to go again tonight. Small meals if you are a big eater.

Table for four. Three ordered the mud crab special and I ordered the steak. The crabs were very disappointing, we asked for the shells to be cracked and they weren't. But more importantly the meat was sparse and a $50 main was little more than an entrée. My steak, although medium rare as requested was still dry. The service and ambience... More

Pathetic overpriced breakfast with subpar, limited choices, and after charging you an arm and a leg, they want you to pay extra for a cappuccino. Walk down to the esplanade and get breakfast at one of the nice cafes instead.
