You won't believe THIS bargain!

The Cock & Bull Tavern is ideally located if you're staying in North Cairns, directly opposite the Cairns Hospital's huge car park, and a mere two blocks west of the Esplanade. Don't be put off by the "rough and ready" external appearance because, inside, you are greeted by a large number of game... read more

Lots and lots of food and heaps of choices you need to be very hungry before you go there so you can eat all of your food.

Judging by the number of people (and the size of some) this place is a popular eating haunt. To say the meals are huge is an understatement and actually a bit of a turnoff as they arrive. I had spag bol and could only eat about 30% while my husband chose a steak which was ok but not as good... More

Had lunch here with my husband and son we all had the chicken snitzel, chips and salad. The serving was huge and it was delicious best of all it was very reasonable in price. We will certainly be going back. 🍴😀

Was good steak but have had better ironically at the brekky creek hotel, which this place claim they are just like?? Too many veggies( carrots & peas took up 1/2 the plate) but steak tasted good.

This restaurant is not about ambiance, elegance and food presentation. However if you seek large servings - meals cooked to order you won’t be disappointed with the pub grub. We were hungry and enjoyed the reef fish with vegetables and the large steak cooked medium as ordered.

The food here was well priced and tasty, although I'm not sure Queenslanders understand what the term "medium rare" actually means in relation to cooking a steak. Both the steaks I oreder whilst in Cairns were ordered medium rare and both were cooked much closer to well done. Aside from the steak being overcooked though, the atmosphere was very family... Great range of meals with very good value for money. Larger than normal portions. The only down side is the ordering area is split in 2. A grill side and the more traditional meals on another side. Makes for some confusion. Drinks are very reasonable and can't wait to come back next time I'm in cairns.

Visited for dinner with work friends. Quick service, reasonable prices, large tasty meal. Only area of improvement would be not to offer cutlery in white paper bag & order taking & delivery done at the table rather than doing it myself as I burnt my finger on the plate as it it was quite a walk to our table and... Only eat here if you're hungry, want value for money and quick service. Put this one in your diary - great casual dining....
