It was a few months ago that i visited Alto. I remember arriving a few minutes before opening time and being asked to wait a few minutes. Which was fine. I few minutes was longer then we expected and i remember thinking "this better be worth it". When we finally sat down our waitress (i forgot her name, she had... More

Our family visited for a joint birthday dinner for 19yo daughter and 28yo son. Industrial chic in the converted Powerhouse on the river...great atmosphere. The menu was interesting enough to provide everyone with something different our foodie family could each try. The prices were OK for Brisbane...the plate sizes might be a little on the light side for some... but... More

Recently visited this restaurant and was very impressed not only with the food but also with the service. The waiters were so attentive and courteous. The food was tasty and beautifully presented, there was a large group of us so we had a selection of food to share...t-bone steak, roast chicken, Ragu, lamb, big chunky chips, creamy mashed potato, veggies,... Went to this restaurant as part of a large group. The staff were attentive , cheerful and efficient. The font size on the menus was a pleasant surprise as it was legible without glasses. We had Tassie Mussels and a slow cooked Goat shoulder. The servings were a reasonable size , probably not a place for the famished. The flavours... More

Went with a group of people. Food was amazing - not huge servings but not really expensive either. Great night.

This Bar is aligned to the Brisbane River at Newstead in Newstead Park . This old brick building building has had a previous life and now houses a bar, restaurant, film and play area. Open plan with inside and veranda eating, the food is quite decadent. Only difficulty is that the mood lighting makes it difficult for those who need... More

Went here for my birthday dinner last week and it was excellent. Sam was a very helpful and attentive waiter and the food was delicious. Lovely location by the river and parking is easy at the powerhouse.

We went to eat here on a sunday evening. The powerhouse is a nice setting but as soon as we entered the restaurant part, it was clear that it was quite loud, partly due to the bar part. The food itself was very good, nice plates of pasta. For europeans, it is always funny to see non italian waiters pronouncing... More

We enjoyed dinner after seeing a show at the Brisbane Powerhouse. Everything about the evening was great - the food, the service, and the atmosphere! And, it was nice to see Bar Alto still accommodating late night arrivals as late as 10PM. This is rare for Brisbane! Despite being packed due the popularity of the cabaret festival, Bar Alto treated... More
