9 out of 10 birthdays we celebrate in our house include a dinner at the continental cafe. Seafood risotto, lamb salad, sausages or the chicken dish. Excellent every time, great selection of wine. Staff know what there doing and are pleasant to deal with. From the moment you step inside, it feels comfortable, and you wonder why we don't come... More

We were invited to celebrate a birthday here. The food we had was divine. Beautifully presented, good serving sizes and very, very tasty. Staff were very pleasant, and considering it was a large party, they knew exactly who had ordered what. Quite a small place, and very busy, so I'm sure it's wise to book. Parking a nightmare, so leave... More

By now a Brisbane institution. We were able to get a booking for three at the last minute and had a great meal. I decided to not have my "usual" of Soy Lime Chicken and had the Beef Cheeks. Tarte Tatin was perfect to follow. Great service.

We have been going to the Continental for years on an irregular basis. The menu basically doesn't change and whatever we order is consistently good. Staff change and some of them are slow learners and don't always listen to what you have requested. However the food is great and the wine list OK. Wednesday night is "offal" night and you... More

Went here for late lunch at about 1330hrs. You will find a chef in here who is very skilled in what he does. I went here hoping to taste the crispy duck, but it unfortunately not served during this season as they have seasonal menus. I went for the chicken at very top of the mains menu -haha (couldnt pronounce... More

Staying in Brisbane for a week or so, this place was recommended to us and we liked it so much we went twice. Lovely Coq au vin and Braised Beef Cheeks, warming winter comfort food done well. Interesting wine list too

We've been a few times in recent months as my husband loves their Lamb's Fry which he raves over and wants to keep going back for more. For those of us who don't like offal the rest of the menu is great. with the soy lime chicken breast and coconut risotto my favourite. The staff are very helpful and professional... More

Appears to be a French style bistro but food not up to standard - badly presented liver and bacon and ok fish. Very popular but not sure why - maybe location. Neither cheap nor expensive but am no rush to return. Felt a little penny pinching and if you are serving French food why is some bread to go with... More

Haven't been here for a while and it is still really good. Stuffed sardines, bruschetta, lamb salad and snapper with risotto washed down with a couple drinks. Recommended.
