Consistently good.

Hadn't been to the Con in years, and it didn't disappoint last Saturday evening. An interesting menu with loads to choose from, but I had to go with my staple of their classic spaghetti with bacon, spinach and prawns - divine! A great wine and dessert list.

We held my Dads 70th birthday dinner here in mid August in the private dining room... Everything was fantastic from the choice in food, the food itself to the service. We could not fault anything. Everyone in our group ate everything as it was so good. We had house red & white for the tables & even they were beautiful... More

My first visit, though with a party of 'regulars'. Interesting menu full of winter warmers, small and intimate space filled with people enjoying the experience. On the advice of the locals we chose the house sparkling and red wine - good quality and an unexpected, palatable way to manage the overall spend. I'm a fan!

This is the restaurant I have visited the most and I have rarely had a disappointing course. With a menu in two parts, Continental Classics which remain year round, and seasonal variations, there is usually something new that is worth the try and if not an old favourite will be there as a back up. Twice baked goats cheese soufflé... More

We met two friends for dinner on Saturday night at the Continental Cafe. First thing you need to do is get there early or be prepared to drive up and down all the streets of New Farm looking for a car park like I did. Our friends arrived a little earlier and jagged a car park right out the back... More

An establishment doesn't survive over 20 years in the fiercely competitive restaurant game by luck. The Continental has become a venerable eating institution by not succumbing to food fads, menus dominated by hyperbolic descriptions of ingredients and reliance on the over-hyped reputations of "celebrity" chef owners. Instead the Continental holds steady to the proposition of simple, classic dishes using quality... More

The title says it all really - I would not change any part of my experiences here. It feels isolated but is worth a walk. The staff were some of the friendliest I've encountered, genuinely interested in making our dining comfortable and enjoyable. The simple, homely and welcoming atmosphere was congenial to good dining even before the food arrived. It... More

9 out of 10 birthdays we celebrate in our house include a dinner at the continental cafe. Seafood risotto, lamb salad, sausages or the chicken dish. Excellent every time, great selection of wine. Staff know what there doing and are pleasant to deal with. From the moment you step inside, it feels comfortable, and you wonder why we don't come... More

We were invited to celebrate a birthday here. The food we had was divine. Beautifully presented, good serving sizes and very, very tasty. Staff were very pleasant, and considering it was a large party, they knew exactly who had ordered what. Quite a small place, and very busy, so I'm sure it's wise to book. Parking a nightmare, so leave... More
