What???? No Custard Tarts Today?!!

I've visited KOK about 12 times over 25 years. The restaurant today was half full. We were seated straight away and drinks were served promptly. The steamed dumpings were all fresh and hot. The deep fried squid tentacles were cold and past serving but were still tasty. We waited a fair while for... read more

We have been going to King of Kings for years now. Although the service has never really been overly friendly - we have always been comforted in the fact that is was usually efficient - and would laugh and the apparent crankiness of the staff (which could be more language barrier than anything else). What has kept us coming back... More

Went for an evening meal and though the evening yum cha is a smaller menu - we decided to go with it and were not disappointed - everything we had was delicious - especially the spring rolls and the calamari. Service was fantastic and you can BYO wine here too which was an added bonus in being able to take... More

As we previously lived in NSW, Victoria and the Gold Coast, one of our favourite weekend treats was to go to our local Yum Cha house and chow down on some Chinese delicacies , washed down with tea , and all cheaply. When we moved to the Sunshine Coast , we found nowhere to indulge this passion , so when... More

I hadn't been to King of Kings for yum cha for a couple of years, and was pleased to find that when I returned recently it was the same enjoyable experience I remembered. The trolleys were many and fast on this busy Saturday lunch service, with a great variety of tasty dishes on offer. Special mention for the delicious mango... More

I'm really not understanding what the recent review are about. I love this place and go there once or twice a year when in Brisbane. After reading the reviews we skipped it for a near by Thai place, which was closed, so feeling a bit nervous we did King of Kings again. Same manager/owner was there but all different staff,... We had a wee hunt around for a good Yum Cha while in Brisbane and headed for king of kings. Unfortunately the meal didn't live up to the name. Cold, bland and greasy comes to mind. Surely there are far better options in Brisbane- please let me know when you find it!!
