Description: To much anticipation by Philip Johnson's strong local following, e'cco...
To much anticipation by Philip Johnson's strong local following, e'cco bistro opened its doors in 1995, starting what has turned out to be a Brisbane landmark restaurant. Located in an historic building on the fringe of Brisbane's central business district, the century old former tea warehouse oozes with character an ambiance. Almost twenty years on, e'cco underwent a total refurbishment in October of 2014, giving it a contemporary look, yet preserving the inviting, warm bistro feel that has stood the test of time. As Philip says "We do as little as possible with the best ingredients available."

Nice the First Time

I was really impressed the first time we went to e'cco. I was enticed by a salted caramel popcorn dessert. It was a beautiful meal with exceptional service. The second time, however, the food was not up to the same standard and the menu choices were much more limited. Still worth a meal out!

It looked nice when I walked in - bright friendly and modern. But when I looked at the menu, I knew "I was not In Kansas anymore". The menu is varied modern and exciting. I had all three courses and by the time I had a liquor with the coffees, I knew I had just finished a great experience. WoW!

A really great switched on crew. Good selection and responsive if dining alone like I was. Good was beautiful but a bit pricey. I liked the atmosphere and bread.

Every time that I have visited E'cco I am always amazed at how they can get so much flavour into the food. The service is always friendly and efficient. Consistently great!

We chose E'cco for the wife's birthday because it's one of our favourite formal dining places in Brisbane and we hadn't been for a few years. To be honest we weren't blown away as we have been on past visits. We had the 5 course degustation menu with matched wines for $135 a head. That's actually a pretty good price... More

This Restaurant would have to be responsible for one of the best meals I have ever had ! The 6 course with wine match is beyond outstanding and the care and attention from the staff even when busy was totally refreshing.

We don't usually go to a place like this after having children:D. But that's our anniversary dinner. I enjoyed everything we ordered. And I liked the atmosphere there. Will go back again...without kids still.

the hotel recommended this and we must say the pasta and seafood was very good, the duck was also very tasty but we enjoyed the australian wines the most and the view at sunset made for a wonderful last night in australia
