The breakfast continues to be an enjoyable experience with a very good range of choices and quantity coupled with very attentive and helpful staff. Over many years this continues to be a proven winner and one of the singular reasons (apart from location) for choosing this hotel.

As usual the service was wonderful at both the bar where we had our pre-dinner drinks and in the restaurant. The problem was the actual dining experience. Not sure if it was because expectations were high when I made the booking for the advertised "Elio Moda Italian Week' for my husbands birthday or that it was attempted in a buffet... More

We attended Thyme for breakfast with some friends from the United States. As per usual, anyone that we meet at the Sofitel absolutely raves about the service and accommodation. We had our two year old daughter with us, so it was a little disappointing to be taken to the absolute back of the restaurant as sitting closer would have been... More

My husband and I went along for the advertised "Italian week" special menu and showcase of Italian fashion. We sat down at the bar first for our special Italian drinks. My Bellini was absolutely delicious. The Italian meal at the restaurant was a very disappointing buffet that was very empty and not at all enticing. Actually it was an insult... More

During our weekend stay at Sofitel, husband and I had dinner and breakfast at the Thyme restaurant . Our window table provided a delightful view of Brisbane by night . The spread was first class, the seafood area proved very popular with all guests . It was the polite, helpful, staff who make the Thyme so superb . HELPFUL HINT... More

We chose to dine in house at Sofitel & were happy we made this decision. One could not wish for more. Beautiful presentation, fabulous service, lovely views if seated near the window & great soothing music. There was a lovely choice of fresh seafood as well as seafood salads, Italian & Indian dishes, roasts, curries, beautiful salads & desserts. Our... More

Breakfast at Thyme was fantastic. The omelette prepared as you blended your own custom juice was excellent, and the spread of hot and cold food was terrific. The only let down was the coffee, which my wife reported to be like burnt mud.

Although one can find something of quality to eat at the buffet lunch, the head chef 'misses the boat' as a true five star restaurant. We have been particularly disappointed at the Italian themed lunches, Tasteless and poorly constructed pasta dishes makes one wonder whether the chefs have ever eaten in Italy. Over the years the quality of most of... More

Love this place . Beautiful grand entry to the Sofitel Building and a lovely ambiance in the restaurant itself. Very pretty views of city at night. Strongly advise you to request a window table when booking . Thyme restaurant is exceptional. in the buffet, the quality was impressive but for a buffet, the flavours were an amazing treat for the... Food was nice. It was difficult to catch the attention of wait staff during meal but they were helpful & pleasant once we did. What was stunned me was the way the person who led us to our table simply put an open (crumpled page) drink compendium on the table and walked off without a word! We could only assume... More
