My guest in the early stages of his career, upon my arrival exclaimed, "wow I had no idea this was here." Probably the first decent French restaurant we had in Brisbane I told him (not counting the former North Quay sited Scaramouche), and still a serious offering for the modern French bistro style. Arrived on Monday night from interstate with an overseas visitor around 8:15 hungry after a long day. A number of people were paying their bill as we walked in and there were a few patrons still seated. We asked if we could get a table but were told that as we didn't have a reservation, the cook wanted to go... More

My husband and I had dinner here in March 2015. Decor very pleasant , we were seated immediately by the smiling and welcoming maitre d. Great range of foods on the menu and the wine list was also excellent. Restaurant also allows BYO and we brought our own bottle of Moët. Food was excellent and courses were well timed. My... More

Last night my partner and I went to put second degustation dinner at Baguette Bistrot and Bar. This one featured duck in all 6 courses. Outstanding dish was was the sautéed scallops with duck foie gras croquette. The flavours and textures were just right and we were left wishing for more of this dish. However the next 4 courses were... More

My wife and I called in for lunch as we business in the area. We were well received and seated at a table for two. I advised the waiter I was a coeliac and he had another person take me through the menu to select gluten free options of which there were several. I settled for the Lamb as did... More

Based on other people's reviews, we booked this restaurant for our one and only night in Brisbane. Simple but sophisticated decor and a short menu hinted at the excellence to come. I had 'Milk Fed' lamb and my wife had duck. Both were superb, succulent meat and perfectly cooked vegetables. Friendly but unobtrusive service complemented the food. In short excellence.

If you find yourself in the Ascot area of Brisbane and you are thinking of dining out then Baguette at Ascot is a restaurant to consider. In fact it is worth a trip from where ever you are in Brisbane. There are a couple of other options to consider for a visit in addition to the restaurant, these are the... More
