First a disclaimer- I've been eating Thierry Galichet's food for well over 30 years and I am an unabashed fan - never been disappointed! and this is the first time I've ever "reviewed" one of his restaurants. Montrachet is French bistro cooking at its finest. Chez Georges, Paris, Balthazar, NYC, sorry Montrachet has you in spades. As you enter the... More

If you want to legitimately experience what is real French food then this is the restaurant. Nothing can replace sitting in a French bistro somewhere in Paris or anywhere in France!! However this restaurant won't disappoint. You want great French food go to Montrachet any time....the fact that they don't open Frida nighty-Sunday makes it challenging but you know what... More

My husband and I were given a $200 gift voucher for our birthday last August . We mistakenly assumed we had a year to present voucher. Only to find when we did go there for dinner with 2 of our family it had expired . The date of voucher was included in middle of the wording in the voucher. I... More

I've eaten here about 4 times over the years when visiting from Melbourne and the food is always superb. Traditional French that's not overly fussy but is always beautifully and authentically prepared. The staff are attentive, informed and efficient. I absolutely love that the restaurant is not a slave to the public and open on weekends! I can't make comment... More

Having not been to Montrachet for a few years, we finally went again in May 2014 to enjoy their degustation dinner. (Having received a generous Christmas gift voucher with the explicit intention that my partner and I share a degustation dinner together.) At our preference we dined inside and, did not arrive until 8:30pm. (We were running late but a... More

Montrachet is my favourite go to for fine dining. Intimate style dining. Service that is top class but not intrusive. Beautifully presented and as good as it looks food. Creme Brûlée is the best I have had. Lamb was cooked to perfection! I think I need to go back just to make sure everything else is as good!

Headed this way for my partners birthday lunch after hearing good things from friends. Lovely feel to the restaurant. Cosy and warm. Highlights were the snails and pate! Amazing! Chose a beautiful bottle of Burgundy to top it off. The staff were very friendly and attentive-I'm sorry I cannot remember the young girls name who looked after us. It was... More

Fair dinkum don't tell anyone about this place. The only problem I have with Montrachet is the cost and the limited days it is open. Hopefully if they get really quite all we can hope for , is that they reassess their prices. It is a statement in itself that Montrachet is not open open the traditional nights that you... More
