Great Service and great food

Whilst staying at the Royal on the Park over Easter with our two kids we had the pleasure of dining at the Walnut Restaurant. We were a little hesitant dining with our kids 5 and 7 thinking it would be a little bit too fancy for a family restaurant. This was not the case. We were treated with the... read more

Congratulations on having great "old fashioned service" , the staff made it a... More

the steaks and service and the location right in the actual hotel. Really hard to beat and we tried lots of other restaurants in the city.

We stayed at The Royal on the park hotel and used this restaurant for our room service. We used it several times and the quality of the food was consistent across the menu and even when eating it in our room. Good sized portions and good value for money. We ate various things but the burger was particularly good, large... More

Excellent restaurant in pleasant and comfortable surroundings with stylish service and great food prepared by the Belgian chef. Had the 3 tier seafood platter for 2 with an excellent selection of hot/cold seafoods including calamari, moreton bay bugs, fresh fish, prawns, fresh oysters, NZ mussels. Would be my restaurant of choice when next visit Brisbane. PS.The hotel is located within... More

My wife and I went to the Walnut Restaurant last night for a special occasion. We loved the degustation menu which was consistently good across all 6 courses - scallops 8/10, duck 9/10, salmon 7.5/10, wagyu beef 9.5/10, peaches 3 ways 7.5/10, deconstructed blackforest 8.5/10. The wine matches were good too. The service from the maitre'd was outstanding, and a... More

At a first glance this restaurant looks like something out of the 1970s. The décor is very 'classical' from the carpet to the chairs and tables all the way to the patterns on the ceiling and the attached chandeliers. The menu is rather expensive. Expect to pay over $50 for a main and a soft drink. However the options are... More

The buffet breakfast here is quite good but the dinner service was terribly slow and the food portions were small, overpriced and unremarkable. I was planning to have dessert but I was waiting so long for a waitress to take my order that I ended up just getting up and leaving.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to bring to our attention the lack of service you received earlier this week. We would like to firstly apologise for the length of time taken to attend to your needs. This is certainly not our usual high level of service we would like our guests to experience. Our staff on the... More

Located at the Royal on the Park Hotel in Alice St Brisbane CBD, this fine dining restaurant oozes old world charm. Wood paneling, white tablecloths, linen serviettes, attentive staff, intimate and elegant. We chose items from the a la carte menu, however we could have elected to choose from the 6 or 8 course degustation menu, with or without matched... More

We had dined before at The Walnut Restaurant so had high expectations. Our expectations were well and truly met. Service was fantastic. The food was a delightful feast - as we’d anticipated. The buffet lunch presented many choices making it difficult to decide what not to try. All was just so tempting. We appreciated the musical and other entertainment during... More

Dear Guest, It was wonderful to welcome you and your family back to the Walnut Restaurant for our Christmas Luncheon! Most of our guests on the day have been returning for many years. Because of this, spaces are very limited and will usually be fully booked months beforehand. We hope you will join again before then. Executive Chef, Frederick Marechal,... More
