What a great treat, Australian native food made yummy.

The restaurant is very snug, the waitstaff terrific and pleasant, the food has great variety and delicious. I've eaten real native food prepared by Aborigines and Islanders and this is the closest I've come to it in a restaurant. The wines to accompany the meals were great too. There was only one... read more

Have been many times. The latest was with a cudo voucher for lunch. I am trying to eat my way through the menu. Great service... But do miss the jovial Scottish front of house! Delicious as always. Dessert always a must here. Have done degustation menu too & that was faultless.

Visited this restaurant for dinner because I wanted to try Australian cuisine. The food was beautifully presented and tasty (I had crocodile starter and kangaroo for main), menu offered wine recommendations to go with each dish. However, portions were small and came virtually with no sides. Veg had to be ordered separately. The restaurant didn't really have much of a... More

Service was strangely slow for what was basically a platter of cured foods and dessert. The portions are very small, and the experience isn't as great as the atmosphere promises. Good emu though.

The restaurant is in West End just min from the centre of the city. The menu was quite diverse however all had a unique Australian flavours and meets. Well worth the visit especially if you are a traveller to Australia.

We were told this was the place to go for traditional Australian bush food, so we went there. We had reservations for 8:30, and when we got there at 8:20 we were told that the table hadn't vacated and they had just ordered dessert and we needed to come back in maybe 20 minutes. Luckily it's in a really cool... More

As a place to showcase Australian native cuisine, sadly we found the food average. The starters and palate cleansers were interesting and a nice touch. However, the entrees were disappointingly bland and not well presented. Mains were better as they were well cooked with good flavours. The shared dessert plate wasn't remarkable with tiny amounts of dessert. Sadly, it's not... More

We have been traveling early this year though Australia, and spending our last night in country really wanted to try Australian meat, got recommendation from hotel to try Tukka. We didn't have reservation as was just transferring though Brisbane for one night, and moreover it was Monday. When we arrived at restaurant around 18:30 we were told that without reservation... Probably the only restaurant in Brisbane where you can eat typical meat such as kangaroo, crocodile or emu. The food is awesome and the price is not too expensive.

My partner and I had the "Great Escape" degustation menu with half-glass paired wines. This menu includes kangaroo, possum, emu and crocodile as well as native berries such as Lilly pilly. The food was absolutely delicious with my only very minor criticism being that the chef is a little heavy handed with the salt. The overall combination of flavours more... More
