Always a Favourite

I always enjoy the food here. Highly recommend the pesto bread with pesto dipping sauce as an entrée. I could eat that every day for the rest of my life. So goooood. Love the interior and the little cosy booths out back where you can take your shoes off and sit cross-legged at a low-set table and just relax.

After reading the reviews for this place I decided to visit and was expecting great things. Although it was a pleasant night out nothing hit me as extraordinary. Being vegetarian there was quite a few things on offer which is a bonus but nothing was outstanding. I would visit again as nothing was wrong with the visit but there really... More

I ate here with family two nights ago and although I have not been to the Himalayan for several years it is every bit as good as I remembered. We shared several dishes as well as two of the beautiful breads (chilli & garlic) and everything was mouth watering. We sat in one of the back rooms, on cushions around... More

In Brisbane having a restaurant place like this is amazing, I can't believe after been in Katmandu which I love the country, the people and the feeling, I only got to go this restaurant last Friday, OMG, the food is just devine,my son (9 years old) and I we had lamb and chicken curry nepalese style, it was beautiful. We ate here often when we lived in Brisbane about 8 years ago. It was nice to see that nothing has changed. The food was fantastic as ever and the service was good too. I would certainly recommend a visit if you are in Brisbane. Even though we were the only ones with kids in the place, most kids with... More

Visited here for a quick dinner on Saturday having never really considered the restaurant for dinner (mostly as I thought it was a cafe). From the outside the restaurant is colourful and inside, cosy with a good ambience. The restaurant does get really busy so I would highly recommend booking in advance. There is also a chicken dish with a... More

Have been to Himalayan Café a number of times over many years. Food is simply fantastic as is the service. In a highly competitive environment in New Farm/Fortitude Valley precinct this restaurant has remained popular and consistent for a very long time. The main man Karma is awesome at the front of this restaurant and very welcoming.

My first Himalayan cuisine and I loved it. I have no idea how to explain the bread, but you must try it - do the dipping sauce too. The dishes reminded me of Indian, but we're still different. This cafe itself had amazing staff and the atmosphere and decor was very appropriate. Would definitely return!

We ate here tonight-Friday without a booking. They were very busy but managed to fit us in. They were operating with no power due to last nights storms, but it was still good. This was our first time here and the menu has lots to choose from. We only had mains and they were tasty and good size
