Having been warned how busy (and noisy) this restaurant can become as the evening progresses we dined early.By the time we had finished the place was beginning to fill up and we had a squeeze to get out! The Himalayan bread and dipping sauce were delicious, the mixed sharing starter was acceptable if somewhat bland but there was plenty of... More

To each his/her own as they say. Over the years since it opened we have given the Himalayan "another go" probably on a yearly basis. We just find the food too bland but it has always been crowded when we have been there.

The Himalyan Cafe looks attractive and welcoming and is a BYO - very promising. However, I should warn fellow Brits that this is as close to an informal Nepalese restaurant that it gets, the food on offer here is not a patch on what a Nepalese restaurant will offer in the UK. Later, an Australian friend, who knows the UK... More

I have lost count of how many times my partner and I and our friends and families have eaten at the Cafe and I have enjoyed each and every visit. Over the last couple of years I have severely cut down my restaurant eating from up to 8 or 9 times a week to probably twice ( by the way,... More

Recently visited this Resturant after walking past it for many years, although we had a nice experience, the staff didn't even appear to notice that there were patrons in the dining room at one stage and we had to get up and ask that the come serve us, that on top of having way too many people in the dining... We were looking forward to our meal here, and perhaps we had expectations that were too high. It's not that the food was bad, but it wasn't quite what we had hoped. Not too expensive compared to food in Brisbane in general, which is very expensive for what you get, but could not help thinking that if this restaurant was... More

One of the big things i look for in restaurants, is the atmosphere and service in the place. I think it really helps create a good time, no matter how the food is. But this place certainly delivered on all aspects. Its a smaller restaurant, but has ample room in the front and back of the restaurant. Really "cultured" decorations... More

The food is excellent and is above average for the type of food, There is plenty of it and one could almost wish for a "doggy bag" to have for lunch the next day. We enjoy the goat dishes and always have at least one of these in the selection for the table. The staff are friendly and the service... More
