Gracious service, delicious entrees

On St. James Street/Road, a neighborhood in Brisbane with charming cafes, restaurants and boutique stores, we enjoyed a late brunch with friends at Harveys, an unpretentious restaurant. Some of us had the salmon risotto, another the barrundi special, although the fish and chips looked scrumptious... read more

we came here for breakfast, nice spot on James St. Coffee was excellent and the food was amazing! there are plenty of options on the breakfast menu, we had the rosti and the spiced mince tortilla which were both delicious. Service was fantastic. They were pretty busy (sunday morning 9am) and we were lucky to get a table inside so... More

Harveys have good food, well presented but small servings and a little to expensive. $40-$44 for a main meal

This icon on James Street always has a consistent and changing high quality menu. What sets it apart is the wonderful atmosphere/location and the consistently outstanding service. You just know that a dining experience at Harveys will always be enjoyable.

I hadn't been here for a while...and afterwards I asked myself why? Superb food. My Sunday breakfast of wild mushrooms, lentils and haloumi was sublime...I challenge any other establishment to top it. It was very busy but the service was excellent, prompt and friendly. When a diners knife rattled to the floor, the closest waiter promptly replaced it. So refreshing... More

Dinner was good but very small portion and long wait. They forgot our chips with aioli and served them after dinner for free. Wine was fantastic. Desserts amazing. Quite expensive.

We were a group of 8 ladies, like just about 99% of those in the restaurant. Must say the staff are very friendly and attentive. As the restaurant was full there was a slight delay in our meals being served. I ordered the slow cooked beef cheek rissotto which was very tasty and the beef just melted in your mouth.... More

I have been to Harvey's before but have always found the service a bit off. I thought I would try it again for a work meeting because it's inside & air-conditioned. Food is fantastic, so cheers to the chefs. What lets this place down is the service; the staff don't care. After eating and in mid discussion, we were asked... More

A client asked to meet here for. Breakfast catchup while I was in town and have to say it was awesome if you are into healthy and tasty food. I had the Bircher which was a work of art and a taste sensation. Would definitely return to sample more of the menu.
