Cha Cha Char Wine Bar & Grill is a stylish, contemporary restaurant specialising in high quality, cooked-to-perfection steaks. On our menu you'll find plenty of information - the breed, paddock address, age (12 months to 30 months and older), size (200g to 600g), accompaniments and diet (grass fed/grain fed) as well as snapshots of rare, medium rare, medium and well done steaks to help diners with their preferences. It's harder than you think to get a great steak onto a plate - there are so many variables. Restaurateur John Kilroy is a nationally recognised beef judge and is constantly showcasing products to the hospitality industry where discussions range from the breed of cattle, feed type and age of the carcass. His wide recognition throughout the beef industry means that we receive first class products on a consistent basis, year round. John sources the beef direct from producers and suppliers and ages it for five weeks, giving diners a chance to taste different breeds, brands and regions. That's why it's Brisbane's signature steak restaurant!

Great steak, but big price and slow service

Have to say that this is one of the best steaks I've ever had (I had an eye fillet), but the slow service lets the place down a little. The high prices are potentially worth paying, but this and the service drag it down from being a 5 star rating.

We had read the review of "best steak Place" the owner has been a judge of beef...thought this would be a great credential how wrong. The service by Tyler was fantastic. Engaging and concerned. But the actual product I.é the steak was tough and dry. The red wine jus...not sure it had seen much red wine. The wine list was... More

I have avoided this restaurant for several years as they had lost their edge. This visit however was a pleasant surprise, food service was prompt and accurate. The wine list has improved by a big margin and there was some museum wines that were fairly priced, for our first wine we choose a bottle of Chateau Palmer 1985 which was... More

My partner and I ventured here for lunch,as it was recommended as one of the better steakhouses in Brissy and had previously visited here.I was looking forward to a superb steak,we both ordered mid range steaks and a couple of sides to go with them. The steaks were served but the mains were only served minutes later after enquiring to a... My husband and I were in Brisbane for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and at our Hotel we received a Dining Out Magazine which Cha Cha Char had featured in. To my surprise once we were seated we found out it was Fine Dining which isn't indicated in the book. I feel it was over priced as we went fine dining... More

I recently took a friend from the U.S. to Cha Cha Char for a steak. I had the Steak Tartare which was as good as I had in Paris, and my friend's bone-in rib steak was very flavoursome and tender. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the kitchen stayed open late and the service was very good also. He... More

We went for a romantic meal and had the best time. Had the most enthusiastic waiter who added excellent value to our experience. Food was delicious and the chef even created me a vegetarian starter that was not on the menu.

I had been here a few times many years ago, and remembered it fondly. But I was very much underwhelmed during a recent return to Brisbane. I can't put my finger on why the vibe was off? Lighting? Service attitude? Clientele? But it just simply did not feel like we were getting value for the extravagant food prices and huge... More

Great venue. Good food. Sloppy service. Had a group of 15 people. Staff kept changing. Confused with who was assisting or was it just a matter of flagging down someone in the hope of getting service. They couldnt wait to slap a bill on the table. Very suprising as i would rate Brisbane service generally very high compared to other... More
