Cha Cha Char Wine Bar & Grill is a stylish, contemporary restaurant specialising in high quality, cooked-to-perfection steaks. On our menu you'll find plenty of information - the breed, paddock address, age (12 months to 30 months and older), size (200g to 600g), accompaniments and diet (grass fed/grain fed) as well as snapshots of rare, medium rare, medium and well done steaks to help diners with their preferences. It's harder than you think to get a great steak onto a plate - there are so many variables. Restaurateur John Kilroy is a nationally recognised beef judge and is constantly showcasing products to the hospitality industry where discussions range from the breed of cattle, feed type and age of the carcass. His wide recognition throughout the beef industry means that we receive first class products on a consistent basis, year round. John sources the beef direct from producers and suppliers and ages it for five weeks, giving diners a chance to taste different breeds, brands and regions. That's why it's Brisbane's signature steak restaurant!

Good but expensive

Good food, especially the steaks. Excellent friendly service from our waitress. But the food and wine is VERY expensive for Brisbane. Always irritating to find a $20 bottle of wine being offered on the wine list for $75.

Well has this place dropped in most areas at premium prices. Last visited around 5 years ago and raved about it. Where to start Staff not engaging and close to been classed as miserable, mains mutton dressed as lamb approach and expensive. To end the night asked how the meal was, told the waitress disappointing and was meet with blank... More

Booked the restaurant after glowing recommendation for my husbands 60th birthday. On arrival they had lost our booking but managed to find us a table. The starter and wine were great. Then waited over 30 minutes for our steaks which were over cooked and the vegetables were cold. The waitress could not have been more helpful and offered a replacement... More

This restaurant has great reviews, so on a very wet, stuck on the sidelines of cyclone Marcia, we decided to try it. Wow! Just fantastic! Hubby had Wagyu rump steak, ( possibly the best he's had in a long while he said), and I had market fish, which was the barramundi, which came with clams and tiger prawn. Even the... More

If you are looking for a fancy restaurant in Brisbane to enjoy a good steak, Cha Cha Char is the place. Whatever your choice: barramundi or a wagyu steak you'll get a very good cooked piece in your plate, everything with great views over the river, nice service and good suggestions about the wines chart.

Been a long time since I had eaten here, all I can say about this place is that the steaks and service was first class. Greeted at the door by the owner and seated by a smiling friendly waitress. The waiter new just about everything about everything there is to know about cows and steak. The Kobe Master Waguu was... More

We had the best meal here a few days after our wedding and it was the perfect start to our mini-honeymoon. My partner had even asked for a quiet table on booking as it was our honeymoon and on arrival the staff were extremely cheerful and helpful. We were a little early so shown to the bar as our table... We arrived late without a booking (thanks Qantas) but were warmly greeted and only had to wait 10mins or so for the manager to set our requested window table. We were actually seated away from the window in a corner (not a good start and very annoying after specifically waiting for one with a less than half full restaurant), but... More

We booked a table for a corporate dinner with 3 overseas guests and 3 local business people. When we arrived the Manager launched into an impromptu comedy act treating us as his stooges. He was told in the strongest of terms that his behaviour was offensive and to stop. The staff spent the night apologising on his behalf saying "he... More

This is a great spot, noisy but with good service and great steak. We were a group of 7 and had a great lunch, the staff explained the different steak qualities, advised well on accompaniments and also wines. I would suggest a great male bonding/networking spot in business hours, but equally good for friends and family.
