My partner took me here for my b.day and we had an amazing time. The food was fantastic, staff friendly and plenty of wine. We found it was great value and really enjoyed the dining experience. Thank you. Top restaurant in Brisbane so far for us.

While watching master chef we thought we would treat ourselves to the best restaurant in Brisbane. Consulting Gourmet Traveller sadly number one only did evening dinners so number 2 was it. It was easy to get in and we chose the surprise(Set) menu and matching wines $140 each. Well the service was lovely and very good oozing with accent. The... More

From the moment we were offered a drink at the bar and sat in a dark lifeless corner left alone to contemplate what might happen next, to the talk to the hand response of our host who said he would be with us in a minute, it seemed like the service aspects of the night were gone forever. The degustation... More

Earlier reviews had raised expectations and we were a little disappointed with the food. The ambiance and décor was fine and the service as expected but the food offering was just OK. The smoked octopus was good but average and the milk fed fried chicken was very average.

A return to Esquire after 2 years and we were expecting a lot. I had previously described our meal here as the best we'd ever had in QLD so the bar was set high. Unfortunately this time around they really failed to deliver. The atmosphere from start to finish was joyless and sterile and many of the dishes in the... More

Had a marvellous meal at Esquire last night (2 adults and 14 year old). 15 course degustation, I had the matched wines. Delicious food, great service, knowledgeable staff who could explain and answer queries on the food and wine. Also we thought very good value, the poached chicken and pastrami beef were the largest portions we'd seen on a degustation... More

The worst service in Brisbane !!!!! From the moment we walked in till the last moments of fighting about our last course being given to someone else it was a sad sad excuse of a special occasion!!!!!!

My partner and I frequently go to Esquire. Although it is expensive, if you are into food and don't mind paying a premium, Esquire is a must and will not disappoint. The degustation menu is unexpected and defies the norm of what does and does not go together. Raw Scampi with butternut milk and cookies crumbled over it - Sounded... More

The first four courses of the degustation meal were delicious, however the following courses (including dessert) we're disappointing to the point that most of each course was sent back to the kitchen. Matching wines were generally ok, however the sparkling Riesling and moscato were most disappointing. The reds were the saving grace. Degustation menu with matching wines was definitely not... More

Wife and I flew to Brisbane for the Queens birthday long weekend. We had a wonderful meal in excellent surroundings. Degustation, yes please to the offer of matching wines. With Paul the conversation got to go for it, experiment, we trust you. For one plate each course came with the pre arranged wine accompaniments. Unexpectedly one plate came with what... More
