Lovely resturant when you walk in, the staff are very helpful however most have very strong accents and are terribly hard to understand. The food looked really apealing however tasted like bark and twigs. The meats where under cooked and bleeding all over the plate. We walked out half way through, to which the staff accommodating and revised the bill.... More

My wife & I thought we'd try Esquire after hearing how great it was from many friends. We had the degustation menu with matching wines & we were very impressed with the dishes that Ryan Squire & his team served up. These guys are wizard's with food & their attention to detail is remarkable. We'll certainly be going back for... More

Esquire has two sections - Esquire (formal) and Esq (near the bar). I ate at Esq and highly recommend it. It has the quality of a formal restaurant without the presumption, the wait or the pain to get a reservation.

We were very excited about going to this No 1 Gourmet Traveller rated restaurant and experiencing the degustation. There is a $90 and $150 option with matching wines for $10 a course. The first course was dill roots with oyster sauce with a ginger juice served in a little milk bottle. The presentation was appealing but the juice was a... More

From the Esquire Restaurant website, "...the Esquire menu is playful and intriguing. Designed to excite palates and challenge textural and flavour pre-conceptions, Esquire evokes memories through a carefully crafted series of small, but perfectly balanced (and filling) courses." That description, the restaurant's rating of '3 hats' from the local Good Food Guide, and the opportunity to celebrate a significant milestone... More

Esquire is certainly worth its "3 Hats". Our luncheon was fabulous - starting with laser cut air dried Beef and Kimchi (air dried spicy cabbage leaves). Entree was a stunning presentation of oak smoked Cobia (black kingfish) with horseradish and crispy dill roots. Our main course was Rainbow trout with green mustard and meyer lemon, just mouth watering. Dessert was... More

My partner took me here for my b.day and we had an amazing time. The food was fantastic, staff friendly and plenty of wine. We found it was great value and really enjoyed the dining experience. Thank you. Top restaurant in Brisbane so far for us.

While watching master chef we thought we would treat ourselves to the best restaurant in Brisbane. Consulting Gourmet Traveller sadly number one only did evening dinners so number 2 was it. It was easy to get in and we chose the surprise(Set) menu and matching wines $140 each. Well the service was lovely and very good oozing with accent. The... More

From the moment we were offered a drink at the bar and sat in a dark lifeless corner left alone to contemplate what might happen next, to the talk to the hand response of our host who said he would be with us in a minute, it seemed like the service aspects of the night were gone forever. The degustation... More

Earlier reviews had raised expectations and we were a little disappointed with the food. The ambiance and décor was fine and the service as expected but the food offering was just OK. The smoked octopus was good but average and the milk fed fried chicken was very average.
