Stuck for choice reasonably late on a Thursday night in Brisbane, I chose this restaurant. The decor is excellent, with well appointed tables, linen, lighting and general ambiance. Service was quick and attentive, which I'd expect given there was only one other group on the restaurant. (It was late - about 8:45pm.) I was told almost immediately that I should... More

While visiting Brisbane over the weekend, Beijing House was one of a couple yum cha places centrally located. The reviews we read weren't so glowing, but we had a hankering for yum cha. The service was good with the yum cha carts coming around quite often, being refilled regularly with fresh selections. The usual yum cha fanfare was on offer.... More

A Brisbane visitor guide in my hotel contained an ads for Beijing House Chinese Restaurant and, as it was within walking distance in Queen Street, my wife and I decided to give it a try. My wife has a bit of trouble walking up and down steps, so it was quite a shock and a struggle for her to mount... More

This restaurant was a pleasant find in the heart of Brisbane. The staff are very attentive perhaps a little too fast. The food was tasty and a lot of variety. The prices were reasonable the restaurant needs a bit of a refurbish but if you are looking for an easy meal at a good price it is worth a try.

The decor was nothing special, but the service was very good and the food not bad and the prices not outrageous for right in town. Not the best Chinese I've ever had but it was more than reasonable. I didn't have a lot of choices at the time of night I was looking for dinner, so I appreciated they were... More

We were spending two nights in Brisbane; and walked from our hotel up to the Beijing House just by accident. We were looking for a nice quick place for dinner after flying most of the day. We walked up the stairs and were greeted me immediately. We were handed the menu, which is a book. The eggrolls were delicious and... More

Satisfactory Yum Cha experience, though food was not as fresh as one would hope and service was a little overbearing. OK lunch experience in the CBD.

Waited over forty five minutes to get some of our meals. Took a hour to get the rest of our order apart from our entrees which never turned up. Service was very average. Probably worst I have had in a very long time Have been here lots of times for lunch and the dumplings are delicious. Always served quickly and... More

Even if we had come on a better evening I doubt we would have enjoyed eating here. Dull surroundings and less than average food. For the record our meal included sizzling sliced duck with plum sauce (which was ok), stir fried prawns (tasteless) and the mixed entree (just about ok). However our time there was completely ruined because in half... More

Absolutely the worst service we have ever had. There was a language barrier and they just pretended to not understand but when we said this was appalling service and we wanted a discount they understood perfectly. We ordered 8 banquets and one meal from menu. Entrée 25 mins Dishes came our one at a time 10 to 15 mins apart... More
