Decent city location for yum cha

We ate a yum cha lunch here with a group of ten of us. The place was really busy, which must be a good sign. I thought that food-wise, the yum cha was as good as any of the yum cha's I've been to in Chinatown. We didn't get the free tea like other yum chas but I have no... read more

I went for Yum Cha and was not overly impressed. After I was seated, several staff members stood around watching me, which certainly resulted in prompt table service (dirty dishes were cleared away quickly) but it was extremely offputting for me as a diner. A bit more discretion would have been nice. A number of the more exotic dishes advertised... More

This is quite an elegant restaurant and the service is pleasant with smiling, genuine staff. Excellent yum cha, my favourites are the steamed pork and peanut dumplings and the prawn and coriander dumplings. When they have it, the tripe in Black Bean sauce is superb. Custard tarts are good too.

Great service with an authentic Chinese atmosphere. We ordered off the traditional menu which was an excellent choice as all the food was fresh and light with great flavours. Next time I would go with a larger group to get the most out of the venue.

food and drinks good, central venue, but poor accessibility, definitely not for wheelchairs, slippery floors (bathroom), bad if you are unsteady or get vertigo - from the staircase - really - REALLY - let down by the bill, otherwise i would have recommended it to others

The food was delicious and there was a good variety. And the staff were fine. Interior design was very good. We had 30 guests, and the restaurant manager had dollar signs in his eyes. We were hugely disappointed that they charged us $54 for 12 tiny individual bowls of rice (a whopping $4.50 per bowl), and $75 for 30 teas... More

This was once the best Chinese in Brisbane, everything was almost perfect. Now (Sunday 8 March 2015) it is a disgrace. The roof leaks, the roof and walls are filthy, the carpet stinks, the food is garbage. The manager used to be polite and friendly - now he is obnoxious. The place is disgusting, you are better off picking gunge... More

We did not know about Beijing House until we were out on a Friday morning stroll, turned up into the Queen Street (pedestrian) Mall from George Street by The Treasury Casino, and right there, first place we saw was Beijing House: Yum Cha. So upstairs we went, and how happy we were. It was just after 1100 and we were... More

After waiting an age at another restaurant & walking out, we went to Beijing House. Within 10 minutes we were seated, had menus, and had our drinks in our hands. Service was impeccable. The food was beautiful, my calamari was slightly overdone but the handmade noodles were divine. Great service, great food, and one to definitely go back to.
