Cicada is a casual yet sophisticated bistro and bar in the heart of the Brisbane CBD. Our menu offers something for everyone, with everything from hearty and healthy breakfasts, seafood and steak for lunch, takeaway options including roasts, salads and pasta, and a diverse range of dinner options, including share plates. And of course delicious coffee, by Toby's Estate. As dusk falls at Cicada we turn into a buzzing afterworks bar with everything from top shelf spirits, craft beer, wine and cocktail jugs.

Casual Business Vibe

Cicada has been at this location at the top end of Adelaide Street (building goes around into George Street) for as long as I can remember. It has always had a business vibe to it, especially if you walk past it after work, it is filled with business people having drinks after work (therefore it is... read more

During September I was doing some work related activities in the Brisbane CBD with a fellow work colleague. We walked past a restaurant and he asked me if I have ever heard of the famous Reubens Sandwich. Of course I had having watched Man v Food on Foxtel. A few days later I was seated there for lunch having one... More

Cicada is one of a good selection of cafes and bars situated down the George Street end of Adelaide Street. Diverse menu selection for breakfast and lunch with fresh quality food and very good coffee. More up market than many cafes but reasonably priced. Indoor and out-door seating.Lots of business people.

I visited Cicada while doing business with Telstra - It seems that's fairly standard with Telstra taking up a number of floors in the building above. That aside, if you're looking for a relaxed place to get a decent lunch I'd highly recommend Cicada. The service was friendly with drinks coming out super fast and meals following fairly soon after... More

Had a quick breakfast here. Service was inconsistent, ranging from the friendly but clearly overworked male waiter who did everything right once he got to it, to the waitress who came across as rude but was probably just really, really indifferent. Coffee was good, no, great. I ordered the avocado and poached eggs on cornbread. I probably misunderstood what corn... More

Great food, great location! We had breakfast here. It was served a little arty for me, but the food was delicious! The place is centrally located, so ideal for all meals. Sitting outside is also great in winter. The staff are fairly friendly. The price was pretty reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, fantastic food. If I worked in Brisbane I'd finish off the week here. We had the Jack burger which was great but the chips were straight out of the packet which was the only letdown.

Had a work breakfast here (Tasmanian Salmon) and it was simply sensational. The coffees also came our extra hot as requested also and left very happy
