My husband booked Valentine's dinner at Prive 249, and it was amazing! Great service and food, and a perfect view overlooking The Clock Tower. Each of the five courses was divine, and I have left nothing on the plates. Not only the food was delicious but also my Valentine's rose (safely packed in a clear carry-case) stayed fresh for nearly... More

Food & service was exceptional! I rarely post reviews but my visit certainly warrants praise for a phenomenal dinning experience. Had dinner at Privé 249 on Valentines day and if your looking for something romantic & special, this restaurant will surpass all expectation. Each course was amazing, I loved it all and I'm usually the first to complain if food... More

We have been to prive 249 in the past and had excellent service n food. This visit was most disappointing. The food itself was awesome but the staff/ service left a lot to be desired. Saturday night more than 2 wait staff should be employed : at times no staff were in the restaurant. Empty plates were ignored, empty glasses... More

My husband booked Prive 249 as a special night out and it was lovely. To have a waiter just for you and attentive to every small detail is a treat we rarely experience (a bit daunting even...) We chose just entree and main each as we find the degustation menu just too much food. We were still given an amuse... More

Prive249 is located in the Softel Hotel in the Brisbane CBD and has a sophisticated ambience and nice view overlooking the city. We selected the 8 course degustation with matched wines and all our group found the food and wine to be excellent. There were some complaints that only 1 red wine was included in the wine matching, and a... More

Our anniversary dinner had to be somewhere special. Due to our 7 year old passing in March we really wanted to each French, as her name was French, and we both love French food. We chose to do dégustation because my honest opinion is that you go to a restaurant to eat the chef's food, and it is an appreciative... More

I loved Prive 249. The romantic setting was comfortable and intimate, the food was fantastic - delicious and innovative - and the service was second to none. I really couldn't fault it. If there are a few of you, opt for a circular booth - they lend themselves to friendly chat perfectly :)

This place is private and awesome. So good that we went back twice. Ask for the snails done old fashioned (Garlic, oil and parsley) but they have to check with the chef because it's not on the menu. The duck was awesome, the beef cheeks spectacular and the wine choice divine. This is a big new favourite.

Did not know of this gem of a restaurant. Discovered by chance and surprisingly I was able to get a table without advanced reservation. It is tucked away at a corner of the Sofitel Central and quite dimly lit. It faces the clock tower though one ant really see beyond it. The food is good but not great. It's French... More
