Peking duck perfection

The saying dont judge a book by its cover definitely applies here. This is no 5 star restaurant in regards to looks, at first we were really apprehensive, we ordered the pancakes for 45 dollars after explaining to us that it was just the skin we thought we had better order another dish for an... read more

Made a special journey to Yee Fong for Peking Duck after reading Trip Advisor reviews. All i will say is there is a reason this restaurant is empty while others around it are full its not the appearance of the building.

This is a restaurant that cannot be reviewed in a regular way. It is located in the heart of Brisbane Chinatown and is more Chinese than Australian. It is clean, but not shiny clean. You will not find any fancy decorations on the walls or starched white tablecloths there. The waitress/owner (you can see her in my picture) is very... More

I ate here with my partner tonight and it was really delicious food and with excellent service. I had the King Prawn and Cashew Nut and my partner had the crispy chilli beef with fried rice. Both dishes were great and the fried rice was even better. It was affordable too! Highly recommend.

We were sceptical despite the positive reviews about this unassuming restaurant. Even the owner asked us why we chose to eat there as most people would 'walk right pass'. But let me tell you, my husband and I are Chinese and this Peking duck might just be the best we've ever had- and we have had a lot of Peking... More

Absolutely amazing duck and lovely people. It is a shame one of the previous reviewers here thought the peek ing duck was not good value because the first course was 'just the skin' and then the rest of the duck came with noodles in the second course, because that IS what pee king duck IS. You buy the duck and... More

Located across the road from the Chinatown gates, this unassuming little Chinese restaurant was a great find. It was about 6pm on a Friday night and we were surprised it was empty except for a couple. They left soon after raving about the meal, so I was eager to see how good it was. My teenage niece and I ordered... More

Went to this eatery based on reviews, we were the only ones in the restaurant for lunch. Helen and her hubby did their best to look after us but the Peking duck arrived, it was duck skin with a shaving if meat. The remaining meat arrived with noodles swimming in oil, all for $92.00 for 2 people, mmmmmm some of... More

The previous review by Legar really summarises everything thing I would like to say. Having just returned from Hong Kong, I love the fact I can experience something like, if not better, in Brisbane. I had first tried this restaurant a couple of years ago and selfishly not reviewed it for TA because ... well, it was a good local... More

A somewhat neglected Chinese restaurant with an appearance reminiscent of the 70's and sadly lacking some TLC. It is however clean and is a fair replication of that found in the lane ways and markets of Hong Kong today even if a little out of step with its Chinatown neighbours in the Valley of Brisbane. But we were not there... More
